Might be a dumb question....
How often has a kid that transferred from your program/school sat down and talked to you before they left?

Might be a dumb question.... How often has a kid that transferred from your program/school sat down and talked to you before they left? We've had kids poached by a nother local team that is in a different section. So they don't have to go into the sit out period. With that said, kids do what they always do when you confront them about them leaving. They try to skirt around it or lead you on. We aren't dumb, our sh*t detectors are pretty good. Will they talk to us, yes. But what they say is another story all together.

One kid was really honest at my last school. Said he wanted to have a good senior season and was tired of losing. The school he went to went 1-9 that year. TBH I still kind of felt sorry for him.

We actually just had our #2 running back transfer out today. He came in with his mother beforehand to meet with our varsity coach to let him know personally.

Might be a dumb question.... How often has a kid that transferred from your program/school sat down and talked to you before they left? I think there are a couple of different scenarios here though. One would be a kid is transferring because he is legit moving and because of that move he would no longer be attending the school. That is different than someone choosing to attend another school to be a part of its football program. I would hope that many of the kids in the first example would come in and say goodbye at least. Now, my perception might be a bit different because I teach PE in a highly transient elementary school where I probably have 2 new students add and 2 existing students drop every week. It might not be like that at the HS.
