Have flirted with looking into moving up to a big school for a few years now, but wife and I feel like we are ready.
I've been a DC at smaller schools (3A), but am looking for assistant jobs to get my foot in the door. I have sent out resumes through normal channels but I'm hoping there are some contacts on here that are looking for coaches who are always learning on sites such as this one.
If anyone knows of anyone, please PM. Thanks.

Are you a THSCA member? If you wait until a few weeks after Christmas break there will be a few more jobs posted. About February-March there will be job boards full of open jobs posted on the THSCA website. It's too early for any assistant jobs to be posted. There will be a lot more head jobs posted before any assistant jobs are.

Tons of seemingly good programs in that area, wish you the best man. I've never worked around Dallas shockingly so I don't know anybody out that way. If you get a job at Allen let me know I'll come with

Seems like most jobs are filled behind the scenes.

Best of luck the DFW is a great area to coach/live! Having grown up in the DFW and starting my career there, I would say even more than in small towns it is about who you know especially in the North Dallas suburb districts. Tons of resumes get sent so that means ADs and HCs are going to talk with someone they know solely because there are too many resumes to go through. If you can make a connection with 1 higher up or even an assistant at a specific school/district you would like to be in I think that is the quickest way in.

In 26 years I don't think I ever got a job without some connection helping me get an interview.
