Any place to find information on Iowa St. Dime Package? Haven't seen much, but interested after hearing so many solid coaches talk about wanting to know more about it. Anyone point me in the right direction?

Exactly like the title says -- What are you looking to studying this off-season? Any certain teams or schemes (I.e; Iowa State Defense, Sean McVay's Offense, UCF's Offense, Houston's Offense, etc.)? Sean McVay's Offense

i am looking into Iowa st..Katy Tx and a couple of other things i saw on X and O labs We've been slowly, awkwardly stumbling towards something like ISU's dime package... Trying to find a subtle way to send some articles about it to the HC. I have been studying it somewhat...the problem, for me so far, is I can understand it vs 10pp zone read what happens when you start adding in a TE and a slot and what happens w/ same side counter. the teams that run east/west zone read , at least around here, stink...the Oline are soft and don't know how to zone block....on the other hand the teams that run iso, uc triple and power, kick our ass. we need more weight room and less dime

I am looking to see how OCs can manage to coach OL and be the OC. We are toying with the idea this year. But I worry about being on the same page with the QB and coaching up him up off the field.
Don't really know where to go with that. But thats my obsession right now.
And any culture or program stuff with utilizing limited roster and coaches numbers.
I get tired of going to all these clinics where hearing ideas that involve having 2 coaches per position, 2 scout teams, and other ideas that we simply cannot do.

1. Increasing tempo in the Oline indi period. 2. Skip pulling technique, never done it before 3. A gap power 4. Drills 5. Buck sweep out of 3 man surface.

What we had to do was divide practice up a little different. I coach the front half of the offense while our D works back half. Then we would switch. I also get to coach up the WRs and QBs during the off-season. That group gets to the point where they can run themselves past other coaches watching for maintenance purposes.

Got have a QB coach you can trust and you all must be speaking the same language.
Pre-Season installs you and the QB coach must go through together.

I’ve been seeing a lot of college teams getting away from slide or big on big protection, but rather pulling a guy across the formation. Want to hear at a clinic why that’s becoming the preferred pass protection.

I see that on play action but not on straight dropback. With all the different RPO stuff it helps sell the PAP even more.

I plan on diving in to what Brent Venarables is doing at Clemson. hope to make it up to a spring practice. I don't want to knock on the guy and he absolutely is a phenomenal coach and has been for awhile. As a Texas fan I was purely relieved that he left Oklahoma. He is legitmately an elite assistant and arguably the best in the game. but If you are looking to see what makes them so dang good I am sure that it lies in the preparation. And you're going to see that they benefit from: - An incredibly gifted and hand picked 2 deep - A culture of competition, with perhaps the biggest advantage being that the scout offense that they see every week is probably better than half the teams in college football. - That entire Defensive Line 2 deep will be drafted (most of them pretty early) and make a lot of $$$ playing on sundays.
- A fast, energetic practice with many assistants doing little things to keep the drills and practice as a whole moving. Point is, if you are looking for a schematic answer and looking to change the X's and O's of your defense it will be an absolute waste of time. But seeing their drills, culture and operation of everything - heck ya.

Brent Dearmon RPO Offense at Bethel Tennesee Offensive Game planning how to practice your game plan. In Game playcalling Read Blitzs(I'm sure they are not called that) like Patriots, Bama, Georgia run like a Rain blitz and Flacon blitz. (Blitz where depending on which way the center blocks one drops one rushes. Also Clemson Nut and Ton stunts they do with their DLine Year-Round Strength training

Becoming a better O line coach. Tried using McNally’s double under/ tip of the spear type blocking technique this year and I felt it made us worse and less physical as linemen. Looking into the Ed Wariner DVD’s and looking for other ideas on how to get my O line to be tail kickers for 5-6 physical seconds each snap. I need to become a better line coach if I want my kids to be better linemen. You should look into Lecharles Bentley's material; he is on the cutting edge of offensive line performance. I plan on visiting Samford University to talk to Coach Chris Hatcher about the Air Raid he ran at Valdosta State in the early 2000s. I figured that's about as close to the source as I'll get without flying out to Pullman.
