Big fight in practice yesterday between the center and the quarterback. The center has decided that it's hilarious to eat a huge bowl of Kashi cereal for breakfast and shotgun Fiber One brownies all day so that he has a gas buildup and can fart on the QB's hands. I swear you can't make this stuff up.

Staubach story may be true but "invention" of Shotgun is generally credited to Red Hickey of 49ers in 1960.

I doubt very many of his stories are true...

Last night, the kids were running their warm-up laps and started singing the Marine Corps cadence song from "Full Metal Jacket"... While the AD was twenty yards away.. He was livid, especially because the coaching staff couldn't stop laughing. They must've practiced the song somewhere because all 40+ kids nailed it..
Edit: The HC hollered at them to knock it off and they did but one kid replied "THERE AREN'T ANY ESKIMO WOMEN HERE TO OFFEND!!"

You should all get giant raises just for being able to get 40 kids to agree to anything, let alone execute it.

We did half-line this week for our defense to rep defending I option. Our kids thought that the other team ran a formation with 2 footballs on opposite hashes. One of our kids thought he was playing a new position. It was interesting.

We went 17 minutes before anyone asked any questions. One kid who kept messing up, we kept trying to correct before finally he goes “wait So it’s like linebacker?” And I said “IT IS LINEBACKER” and he was like “oh I thought we were doing something else”. Cool

Kids just now understanding how to block veer.... our rule is first thing to the left or right (there’s a more advanced rule, but we don’t play any stacked teams). We randomly block the wrong way and get people killed in the backfield. Finished 3-6 with a low seed playoff bid, but now that we understand our rules idkkk what could happen. Glad it took 12 weeks for someone to understand the first thing to their left or right.

Please tell me you are using terms like "Ram" and "Lion" because that's what we do and it absolutely baffles me how difficult some kids make it LOL

Son, are you seriously telling me that you're 16 years old and don't know your left from your right?

One year we literally wrote R and L on a young JV lineman so he could know which way to go during the play. Thankfully, we didn't need to do that for long, but still.

Up big time, getting the whole bench in during the fourth quarter...
"Hey Player McFakeName - get ready, you're going in at guard next series."
"With all due respect, I've made it through three years of high school without ever having to play offense and I'd like to keep it that way."

Had one kid that would have to hold up both hands in an L shape to see which one was his left. Last week of the season, starting RG goes the wrong direction. HC lightly jumps his chit about knowing R from L, then just stops mid-rant, walks off, tells offense to just run the play again. HC sidles up to me, softly says "you really did f-ing write "L" and "R" on his practice pants... I thought you were kidding about that" This kid went the wrong direction at least once a day, and the ongoing commentary between coaches was that I wrote L & R on his pants, but no one took the time to realize I actually did, AND he still went the wrong way

Would 1934 tcu count as shotgun?
