Does anyone use a compatible remote for HUDL? I don't want to spend $200 for a remote. We DO NOT have Mac Computers at our school.
Thank you in advance.

Coach JR smartpointer on amazon is under $40 and works well if you use a laptop for film i know some coaches also use an app on their cell phone as a remote i love the idea of the bluetooth remote from hudl, but that $200 seems steep

Works pretty good. A little clumsy. Or - You could use an xbox controller, but you will need a computer than can connect or an expensive adapter. The hudl remote does not have the reset clip button. I dont like it. You have to manually rewind every clip and its clumsy. I have been using a wireless keyboard this year. I like it so far.

I use the No Huddle App and it does the trick. Turns your phone into a Hudl remote and it's FREE. Highly recommend it. I also have a Hudl plug-in for Google Chrome that will sync up Hudl on two windows. I can have one window to watch film on my TV and one on my computer for data entry and they run the same time. Has saved some headaches for me this summer.

We just use the HUDL app on an ipad hooked into a projector. When you go full screen you get all the fast/slow rewind buttons on the side and can draw on the ipad. Feel we don't need a remote with that feature on the app. I loved the cowboy remotes of the past but the app works just fine in place of it.

Here are the links to both apps: www.nohuddleremote.com/chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/hudl-multi-screen/jmlffnpibekcbkhffhhjjdakbenjclckI like using the Multi Screen for data entry so I can watch film on my TV with the big picture but if I need to look down for data-entry, D&D, ODK or whatever the film is on my screen too. They run at the same time synced so I don't have to be constantly looking up and down to see the play. Coupled with the No Huddle App on my iphone I can do everything the Hudl remote except for the laser pointer and the "tag" button.

When you connect the film to you tv is it down via cord or wireless? Are you just doing a split screen deal on your computer window? Looking at the basics on the app it times up two tabs and sinks everything up, but I’m having a hard time picturing how it will get used. Seems like it could save a lot of time though!

This worked great for me when I tested it. Then when I tried to actually use it, it was complaining about not being on the same wifi network (false). When I tried to use the other connection method, it worked for a few seconds before disconnecting. Have you ever run into that same issue?

I just use the direction keys on my keyboard. Down-(tap) play/pause (hold) slow motion forward, left-(tap) previous play (hold) rewind, right-(tap) next clip (hold) fast forward, up-(tap) start the clip over (hold) slow motion rewind.
This is by far the easiest way I have found to watch film.

I've ran into that same issue before but usually just restart my finicky router and everything is fine. I've never used the other connection method.

CoachUndershirt so are you using a mirror screen deal to get the two separate pictures on two different “monitors” Exactly. The chrome plug-in syncs the two windows' video so they run simultaneously. You can rewind, stop, fast-forward, etc. in either window and it manipulates both windows.
