I much prefer the shoulder pads and helmets to the helmet only. 1 for focus and 2 because motions are different - throwing, catching, etc. are all different with pads than without them.
I also really like the full script idea but we don't do that where Im at now. We do the more traditional split up.
But its all run through - ought to be crisp as heck. We do 5 series of 6 plays offensively. If a play is bad, we still move on the the next play (like you would in a game) and it is added to a 6th series. Then we do our 1 minute scenario. Then we run through all our scenarios - Hail mary, Our "Circus" hook and lateral play (including having the OL run down to keep the play alive - they love it), sky ball (to run off about 10 seconds of clock),and then victory. Although I did hear a coach at a clinic talk about repping the fight scenario and I'm all for it and would definitely do it as a HC.

Shells, shorter practice. Players essentially stand in their positions and are physically loose and mentally tight. Address questions comments or concerns. Everything on air.
