I say Jacob Hester.
Though, no slight on Tebow, without Hester LSU is in serious doo-doo. The guy does it all, special teams, receiver, running back......when the game is on the line........it is Hester getting it done.

Question??? How do you have Chase Daniels from Missou.. and Not Sam Bradford from OU?? Not saying Bradford should win it, but I think if the contiue on and win the Big 12 he deserves an invite to the show.

I picked Dorsey because he is the best player in college football (what the award is suppose to be)
Dickson will get it (barring a collaspe by Oregon) because he is the most hyped player in college football (what the award has become)

They can make an average player sound and look great by showing highlights of only their great plays. They could probably make Claussen look like a Heismen canidate....well that might be stretching it.

it will likely never be a defensive player, sadly, with the constant media hype that determines the winner now.
btw its spelled dennis dixon with an x. oregons TE is dickson.

Best Player in Football = Dorsey (I'm pretty sure without arguement from anybody)... He CONSTANTLY has double and triple teams on him so his stats will NEVER be what the votors look for, but he Single-Handedly changes EVERYTHING you do on offense with him in the game...you have to account for him.
BUT
The Heisman has turned into the QB/RB award of the Highest Ranked team...So Dixon will win it because they will win out and play for the NC and he will have all the OFFENSIVE stats that the Heisman has become.
If they are going to turn it into an "MVP" type deal, then Tebow wins hands-down...Without him, the Gators are 2-9 at the end of the year
I voted for Dorsey BTW

Dennis Dixon - because he is the best college football player since he doesnt have the program recognition (for play not uniforms) and without Dixon the Duxs would sux.
oh and learn to spell his name right ...its D-I-X-O-N for H-E-I-S-M-A-N!

Tebow. Stats are crazy good...almost 700 total yards more than Dixon, the SEC is a tougher league than the PAC-10, and Florida blows without him.

Dixon, Tebow and Dorsey if we are voting.
Dorsey is the best player in football, but the Ducks wouldn't be in the thick of things without Dixon.

tough to say but when i look at what each brings to the table i would rate them this way (very, very closely and, depending on time of day, order could differ... ) 1. tebow 2. dixon 3. dorsey 4. mcfadden i'm looking at each player's impact to his current team and what his impact would/could be on any team ...

Dorsey deserves it- biggest force on the football field out of the list...hasn't been stopped yet No one will give it to him though...
I think Tebow will win it, Oregon will take an "L" in one of their upcoming games (I call UCLA) and Dixon's chances will drop like their ranking...

Devil's Advocate;
Tebow won't win because he's only a Sophomore and Florida is not doing so well in the W/L column
McFadden won't win because the team isn't doing so hot in the W/L column
If Oregon remains #2 by year's end - Dixon will probalby get the nod.
Charles Woodson won it convinclingly, but he also played special teams and spot duty on offense.
The marketability of Tebow is hard to 'deny' and, really, thats what this all boils down to (some interpret "Heisman" to mean the next big thing to hit the NFL).

if desean jackson had any QB at all he would win it. he can be the most exciting player in college ball, however all he has is nate longshore
one stat sums it up for how good longshore is in his career in the 4th quarter he has an amazing 1 TD 11 int

Time to give a little love to the Big 12 boys.
Daniel- 69% 3306yds. 26 tds and 9 ints Bradford- 70% 2509 yds. 28 tds and 6 ints Reesing-62% 2647 yds. 26 tds and 4 ints
All of them are playing as well as Tebow and all of them have their team in position to play for the national championship. What hurts bradford is that he is a freshman. Reesing didn't play Ok. or Texas but could play Ok in the Big 12 championship. I think Daniel has the best shot if they win out.

ok, can I change my pick to Dorsey? I can't check it at school, so I'll look at it tonight at home... I think this topic basically boils down to one question: Is the Heisman for the BEST PLAYER in the country or is it for the BEST STATS in the country? It's a lot easier for offensive guys to get stats, but does that make them a better player than a defensive guy who has NO STATS because teams don't even throw/run/go to his side? We had a sophomore OLB this year who ended up making 1st team all-league due to some "explaining" why we thought he was a definite 1st teamer rather than our Junior LB who had 2x the tackles, and 2x the sacks... We had to blitz the older kid more, because he would never cover or get pressure if we didn't and I would have ran his way all year too before going to the sopomore kids side...

QUAK QUAK !!!!!! You will see why Dixon is going to win the Heisman tonight. Like Lou Holtz said the heisman isnt for defensive players its for offesnsive skill players. He is the most versital QB in the country this year he can run and gun plus he plays in a tough confrence and plays quality teams. PS Why is Jacob Hester on the list ? and who is DJ Hall ? Also mark this down Pat White will win it next year.
