So we have a kid with a huge gourd. XL Riddell doesn't fit. Riddell rep said they don't make anything bigger, which I find hard to believe. Anyonye know of brands that do or have gotten a 2XL from Riddell?

Not sure if this is possible for you or not...
Heard this story maybe 10 years ago?
Basically a HS team in the KC, MO area had the same problem you do. Kid was too big for any of their helmets. They couldn't afford to buy a new one, nobody in the area had one either. So they went to the KC Chiefs and asked them and they gave/sold? them a big enough helmet for the kid.
He was the only kid on the team with a red helmet but he had the proper equipment he needed to play.

Ordered a shuttle 2xl today. Measured kids head it was 26 inches. Find it hard to believe other companies don't make bigger than xl, unless they don't sell them to the general public. Can't tell me guys in NFL don't need bigger than xl.

We got a loaner from a large team sports sporting goods company, Athletic Supply-Odessa, Texas until Schutt could get the 2X helmet to us.

No, but at one of my schools that I needed a 2xl our helmet color was the same as the packers so they rushed us a helmet that had the packers stickers on and we had to remove them, it use to be not unusual to see schools with players having different color helmets, I remember playing Lincoln prep and they had an array of different colors

had a kid a while back who wouldn't fit in a Riddell XL. We got a Schutt XL for him and it seemed to work for him. Schutt just fits a little bigger I guess.

Xenith helmets are pretty forgiving for fitting kids with big heads or kids with odd-shaped heads.
But their customer service is atrocious.

I hate Xenith. Been probably 7ish years since I dealt with one but they were a fukin huge PITA to fix. And try to get them to call you back or respond to an email. Forget it. They are also the only equipment dealer I ever used that wouldn't accept payment by check. Had to pay everything by credit card or PO. I like the helmets. They are pretty cool. But I would rather have rusty railroad spikes hammered through my forehead than deal with their customer service again.

I went to BYU's practice last week and they have a kid that is 6'7 430 lbs. The helmet he was wearing was about to break off of his humungous head and face. I asked if they couldn't find anything larger than that helmet and they said that the SpeedFlex 2XL was the biggest ones that they made.
