Got a kid who will be starting on the offensive line but might play a little fullback so we would like to issue him a second jersey with an eligible number. Problem is that all we have left in eligible numbers are smalls and mediums and there is no way we will get him in one of those (kid is about 200lbs with broad shoulders).
Is it possible to get a single jersey made? Jerseys are from Wilson and the style is Pro Fusion if that helps.

You can't just swap the numbers?

or, cut a jersey down the side seams and add some fabric to it

You can't just swap the numbers? The problem is that we need a size large. So a kid who has a size large jersey with an eligible number would then be without a jersey as well. Unless that kid took an ineligible number. Is there anything that could be done in regards to tailoring? Can extra material be sewn into a medium to make it larger?

I meant take a large jersey with an ineligible number and sew on different numbers, even just swapping the first digit. Of course if they're printed numbers you're SOL.

I thought about that, as well. The numbers are printed, not sewn. With that being said, I wonder if there is some way to remove the printed number and put on another number.

What about turning a 6 into and 8 with a fabric marker?
Also don't forget the 90s are technically eligible.

Basically just get an embroidered number sewn on over the printed number?

Well originally I thought it was just a piece of fabric to convert a 6 into an 8. Even still, one player has a single fabric number sewn next to a printed number? It'll work, but I doubt it will look good.

Saw a team once that had a player with an ineligible number on his jersey and an eligible number they could velcro on when they needed it. I didn't see it up close, just from the stands, but it had to be some heavy duty velcro.

In all seriousness, why not just have him check in eligible when needed?

Not sure the legality nowadays as jersey rules have changed, but we had a kid like this and he put a practice jersey on with an eligible number that was the same color we wore. Was navy blue. Didn't have the white striping that everybody else had, but but worked and was cheap.

yes, he could not go out for a pass across the los, could receive a pass behind the los, if fb is a big pass option then you will need to change it, if not then he is good

I had a similar issue once and a Grandma who knew what she was doing took a smaller jersey and made it bigger. I'm not talking a lot bigger but she was able to add some fabric and made it work. We cannibalized another jersey to get the right mesh.

Somewhat depends on how you have your jerseys set up. BUT, order a blank one with no numbers on a rush basis, then take it to a local screen printer to print the numbers and/or anything else you need. Might be a LOT faster than ordering a single numbered jersey from a uniform place.
Heck, way back when I was in HS we had shop classes, they probably could have screen printed it...

You only really need one if he's going out for a pass.
