We are in the market for new uniforms this year. Right now we're leaning towards Riddell's High Performance Motion Fit jerseys, which are the super-tight, "like the pros wear" style. Does anybody have any experience with this jersey or the super-tight style in general? I love the idea that it will be virtually impossible to grab us by the jersey, but worry that it may restrict movement or make it hard to breathe. Thank you for the help!

We got the riddells this last year and our kids loved them. They are tight but flexible. it's like playing in compression shirts.

Some are better than others. I don't have any opinion on the ones you mentioned, I've never seen them, but I would make sure they have good flexion to them. Otherwise, you'll not only get restricted movement but ripped jerseys.
We're going with Boombah's jerseys this year and I'm pretty excited to see how those perform. Just like their shoes, they seem to be incredibly well made and are cheaper than most at $60 per jersey with many customizable styles.

Im going to be purchasing the riddell high performance motion jerseys in the next week. They seem to be very high quality, thicker, but stretchy and breathable.

My previous school had them. When we handed a pair of 3XL game pants to a 6'4", 295lb lineman it was hilarious. Kid held them up and said, "Coach, these wouldn't fit our fattest cheerleader." A pair of size medium pants look like they would fit a Barbie doll. The amount of stretch is pretty incredible. The kids loved them and they said they didn't feel restricted in any way.

you wont go wrong with the russell brand performance jersey. we got them about 4 years ago, white and black, pants and jerseys. over time, white tends to get dingy and lose its brightness, regardless of who and what you do to it. but not russell. you can get a cheap russell jersey that will last 2-5 years or the top of the line(like what ga tech wears) and it will last as long as you want it too.
have had nike pro combat, they look great, but have to be washed delicately. they tend to hold stains a bit(we had a tv game last year and someone got the bright idea to contact the local pro team and see what they did to their field to make it so green---good grass jack a$$). this guy got some grass paint from pioneer and painted the field with a green sheen to make it brighter for tv....ruined a set of pants and the other teams entire uniform.....
have had adidas, eh....not for my money. 2 seasons ago we got a custom sublimated jersey from seige sports. looks great. but i wouldnt wear it for 5 home games. 1 time a year for that special game.
under armor is hot right now. im not a big fan, although the material they use is pretty nice, so it seems. i dont care for riddell. stay in the helmet business.
