Hey Coaches,
I have taken a TON of notes, snippets of information that I thought was good from this forum, pretty much whenever I see something good online I take it.
I am going to organize this information and group them into Offense, Defense, technique stuff, positional, etc.
I was just going to do good ol' Word, Excel, or PowerPoint but was wondering if any of you have guys have anything else out there that is more efficient.
Or if you have any tips on how to go about it, I'm all ears!

Google Drive/docs is very good for sharing with others especially if you want others to help with the workload
also great because you can access it and work on it or view it from a number of different devices

Got it, so just basic Microsoft word?
Have you or anyone tried using Excel? I really like the "tabs sheet" at the bottom so that you can label different things as needed.

One Note is nice.
We have an iPad Pro we use with Hudl Sideline, so I bought a keyboard case and an Apple Pencil in the off-season to take to clinics.
I was able to type quicker than I can write, draw with the pencil and take pictures with the iPad and insert them. It's the best way to note take that I have ever tried.

Personally, I use and love Evernote to organize everything I find. Plus, you can "clip" directly from most source straight into Evernote. I also use Google drive a lot. Prefer it over the Microsoft stuff.

Evernote stores and organizes all of your random digital "stuff" you read or come across. It has extensions you install on your browser. If you come across an article you like, hit the button and it "clips" that article into Evernote. You can store pretty much anything digital in there, from spreadsheets to pdfs, to videos, to web sites to emails. You can then have it all in one big folder and search by word, or put things in separate notebooks and add tags. Personally, I have one notebook for football and then tag everything as offense, defense, special teams, drills, and type of scheme (4-4, 4-3, flexbone, RPO, etc). I still use google drive, but primarily for generating documents. I store most of my stuff in Evernote now because it organizes it so well. That and the web clipper, which is awesome.

coacht65 Can you clip Google Drive stuff to Evernote? I've got a ton of Coaching notes in Drive and organizing all of that in one spot sounds interesting.

I would use word over excel because it sounds like you want to go in depth with the info. Excel in this case would be less advantageous unless you want to adjust the cell sizes a lot larger, but even then it won't autowrap the text like a .doc

You can set the cells to auto wrap. I use the spread sheet to get kids to make notes, graphic organizers, and all kinds of things. I tell them to think of the spread sheet just like they do a Word doc, except you could make the paper as wide (or more) as the room and twice as long (or more). Plus each individual cell is a sticky note that can hold every single Harry Potter book (or more). The only real draw back is that you don't have a printer that big...... But as long as you are just storing information, who cares.

I use excel for a lot of things, but I would still choose word in this case.
