I don't like charging parents and kids for stuff they don't get to keep. In my program we will do without "much needed equipment" until we can get new stuff. And what if your parents can't pay fees? You kick them off? What about when the 6"2 240 pound kid who runs a 4.3 can't pay his fees? He doesn't pay them. Seen it happen way too much Hell no you don't let those kids play. Rules are rules. What kind of lesson are you teaching them? This is about life and morals and integrity. Character counts. You kick those kids off your team. And then you send them to my team.

There is a school in my county that charges kids 400 Dollars for gear/ cleats. Etc. it is put on the obligation list Like a lost book. Cannot graduate without paying it. I want to say it's 400 a year. But I know for a fact, They don't charge some of the studs.

And what if your parents can't pay fees? You kick them off? What about when the 6"2 240 pound kid who runs a 4.3 can't pay his fees? He doesn't pay them. Seen it happen way too much I've been at schools that charged $100 gear fee. They got 2 shirts, 2 Shorts, Sweats, and a bag. We did a card sale as a fund raiser where kids sold the cards for $10 each. For each card they sold it took off $10 from their gear fee. Those that came up short could either pay the difference or work it off. You would be surprised how the "I can't afford" went away when they found out they started picking up trash, pulling weeds, and doing manual labor around the field house and stadium. BUT it was a fair way to help all kids when it came to their gear. To be honest most kids just sold their cards and if they came up a couple short they would pay it, or the kids would share the cards if they did not make it to the next level of awards after their 10 and get everyone closer to their 10. But yes they kept everything at end of season.

We charge $400/year, and they got "obligated" if they dont pay.
The smart kids dont pay a dime. We do 5 or 6 fundraisers every year, all money goes into their account.
---We are at the tail-end of the Hudl-email fundraiser, earned us a couple grand...yet 26 Varsity kids did not enter a single email. ---we sell sponsorship banners for the stadium. booster club does all leg-work. Over the summer, kids have to show up to practice 1 hour early wearing a polo shirt. A booster will drive them to a business that has committed to sponsoring, kid just has to officially ask. No one ever shows up early. ---discount card sales every fall. Every kid gets 10 cards, must return $100. Most kids dont ever take cards out of their backpack, while 1/3 of the kids sell them all in the 1st day.

Our FB requirements are school colors. Black, Vegas gold, white or grey. Being at a private military school the rules are easily enforced. The school PT dress code is black on black on black on black.
