I worked strollo in 1984..and then again in 1990...Great Dude..we worked together for about 7 or 8 years..when you watch his stuff, you really, I mean really have to listen,,the sh!t just creeps up on you...He taught me a lot but mostly he taught me to look and question..he probably watches more self film than any coach I know..its not about the defense its about getting our stuff together..have a COMMON language to communicate..you might not like all the stuff he does..(i don't) but again if you watch and LISTEN..its the way its presented

Don't know if you stuck around in Erie today but Matt Rosati from Perry in Ohio was excellent, imagine he would be a great guest.

I know you're kind of kidding, but in my opinion yes, this is the new fad thing that coaches are doing to get attention for themselves and get a side hustle of cash going when the spread offense came into vogue a lot of guys wanted to move to and it and were willing to pay good money for it's "secrets" (the facemelter) I think we've reached the high water mark for those guys, there's still a few out there trying to sell RPO's as if they are mystically complicated but I think for the most part the cat is out of the bag, it ain't trigonometry, save your money and watch some film so now the focus has shifted to "culture" books/programs and they are picking up some steam, different package same dookie...."here's the same thing that several thousand other people are doing and have been doing for years, but I changed the names of things all around and added some personal stories and self-help platitudes"....that'll be 19.95 #keepgrindin #family #oneteamonedream #brotherhood #48minutesfor48years who knows what the next thing will be one dude I crap you not has DVD's for sale about rugby tackling..which of course they call "bulldog tackling" or whatever, where he goes through the exact teaching progression that the seahawks use so this dude watched a video that is available for free to everybody through the seahawks, then repackaged it with him as the teacher, then tried to sell it to coaches....awesome

You have had some tremendous coaches on the show. I have listened to several, and each time I take something or several things I can use. I would suggest Hal Watson from Southlake Carroll. Southlake has a lot of talent and many advantages, but without someone leading them the right way they would not be as successful. I have seen him speak at clinics a couple of times, and each time I pick up something new. Keep the talks about culture and program building coming. Your conversation with Brian Kight was very good. Anytime I can pick something up that helps me improve our competitive drive and work ethic I am going to be a better coach.
A few others: Chris Gilbert HFC- Lancaster HS in Lancaster, TX Max Kattwinkel HFC- Lubbock Cooper Jerry Horowitz- NFL Program Director- Former HC at John F. Kennedy HS in the Bronx, NY Tony DeMatteo HFC- Somers HS Joe Casamento HFC- St. John's College HS in Washington D.C. Ricklan Holmes HFC- John Tyler High School in Tyler, TX
These guys would all be very good.

Coach, Again...awesome podcast..I don't have a suggestion but just a tiny thing that I noticed while listening it seems like your microphones are picking up a lot of breathing that makes it over the audio onto the podcast, pretty much every time you or one of the guest begins a sentence, the mic pics up the slight inhalation of breath that you take in order to speak it sounds kind of like guys speaking back and forth on a walkie talkie, like this "shhh coach tell us about your offense" "shhh well we like to run the triple option but shhh it hasn't always been that way"
once I noticed it its all I could hear....I"m guessing the sound is natural but normally too quiet to hear in casual conversation, but the microphone picks it up no problem
if I'm the only one that notices this I'll shut up
also I'm really sorry if any of you guys start to notice this now after having read this and you find it distracting
my bad
