I'll be there Friday. My brother went to the Vegas clinic and said Cincinnati OL coach was good. He will be at LA clinic as well...

I'll be there as well.
Anyone seen Dan Pippin, from Greendwood, SC? I wanted to see his offensive talks when I was in Phoenix but wanted to see Liotta as well so I knew I could catch Pippin in LA.
AS coachtua said Paul Alexander from the Bengals is really good, I have seen him in the past. Tim Murphy and Jerry Campbell are there too, I have enjoyed hearing them speak in the past as well.

I'll be there all weekend. Pretty excited for Paul Alexander and Tim Murphy. Any other good ones to see for sure?
I'll end up at the bar at some or multiple points during the weekend.

I'm kind of wasting Friday. Talking to vendors gathering cards and stuff for all the things I want (but have no budget for)

I really liked the Azusa Pacific DC. Good speaker, very clear and specific. Every drill he showed, he also showed it showing up in a game.
I really wanted to see Dan Pippin (Greenwood, SC) and James Vondra (Quartz Hill, CA) but got sidetracked. Did anybody get to see them?

I thought the greenwood coaches presentation was ok. He spent the 1st part talking tempo. I felt like he was saying stuff most hunh guys already know when it comes to the advantages of being up tempo. He talked about RPO's in the second session and a lot of it dealt with tight ends. I liked this part but I didn't think it was very structured. Also, the film he showed was very wide and the players looked like little ants to me. I thought he had some pretty funny antecdotes and he was entertaining. I didn't listen to his 3rd talk but went to the Texas a & m special teams guy because he seemed to be the talk of the clinic and he didn't disappoint.

Nothing overly revolutionary but I did find it interesting the level of detail that went into his prep. I don't know how many other high school programs do this but he has his staff create entire scouting reports and hands them out to players. Film breakdown stuff aside from the level of detail was pretty basic (gathering trends, identifying top plays, etc.). He says his staff breaks down 3-6 games in 2 hours Saturday morning while he has his kids in a study hall.
Practice planning was scheduled out down to the minute with simulated halftimes. What I thought was cool was on Wednesdays he has his varsity practices shifted to a night practice and brings in a DJ for noise. Off the top of my head I can't remember anything else that really stood out.

i really really really enjoyed the Chris Milton Youth Topics about leadership and starting a youth league from the ground up.
having done that a few times now (or creating one from the ashes of another). it was pretty cool to listen to someone who had also done it.
the more clinics i go to, the less "Football Specific" talks i go to. i try to find the guys who are talking about HOW TO COACH, rather then HOW TO X&O

I found his X&Os portion to be very....lacking so I chose to not return for his other segments.

His other stuff was awesome.

I almost got up and walked out when he was bragging about his defense and then followed it up with how 2 of his kids were now freshmen all-american studs with D1 scholarships. If you have those kind of kids you can run whatever the hell you want at the youth level and succeed.... I caught some other good stuff instead of his non-X&Os talk so not too disappointed but good to hear he wasn't completely full of it.
