Does anyone do a draft for offseason accountability teams?
I am looking for a fun way for kids to draft their teammates in the offseason and wondering if anyone has an excel sheet or powerpoint they use to have "offseason" captains draft.
I wanted to do more than just write the names on the board.

coachplaa does a great job of this and I think you can find his in I think the 2012 Nike COY Notes. He also had a DVD where he talks about it. We have looked at doing this (have a pretty good outline) and I think we're going to start this in the spring with a focus on our summer program. We'll do it with an incentive program along with the threat of a conditioning test for those who don't meet the standard we set. Once we have that in place, I think we'll expand it to the winter and spring. I wanted to roll it out this week but, with winter sports already 2/3 of the way done and our kids scattered (lots of 2-3 sport athletes) I thought it would be better to do it heading into spring ball and summer conditioning and then continuing after next season.

We just project our computer up on the overhead with the captains in the room and we just have a blank box to the left of the 1st column. If you have 10 captains, just pick numbers out of a hat and that is the draft order. We write that number and the captains names up on the board. When they pick a player, we just type the captains number into that empty box.
Can't pick someone who already has a number. When the draft is over, we just sort by that column, and all the teams are printed together, given to all the captains and posted on the wall. Usually give time limit of 1 minute to pick. You can do whatever rules you want if you have a good set of data... must have 1 player from each grade on your team, must have 2 offensive and 2 defensive players, etc...
Our kids know that they earn points for speed, lifts, grades, attendance, fundraising, etc... some try to go with all OL and forfeit the speed points to try and dominate the lifting, some go for speed, some go for balance, it is actually kinda funny to see them try and put their team together.

I have done this. Some years the team was good about holding each other to a high standard. Other years they didn't care.
