The river walk, good scenery and plenty of places to eat. The Alamo was cool, but pretty damn boring.

Never been. And don't know how boring it is or how into history you are. But dude you gotta go see the Alamo. Granted I was a history major. But you gotta take in such a large part of American folk history if you have the chance!

The Menger Hotel has a bar that was frequented by Teddy Roosevelt and his rough riders if I am not mistaken. It opened in 1859. If you want to drop $$$ on a steak, you need to hit Bohannon's. It is a few blocks from the Riverwalk and has tremendous steaks. Many people will tell you Mi Tierra has the best Mexican food. I don't know if it is that good, but it has a mariachi band and is open 24 hours.

When I went for the AFCA Convention last year, it was very cold! I don't know if it is supposed to be again this year, but don't be surprised. We went the The Alamo and I didn't realize how tiny the actual building is. Go for the historical aspect. It doesn't take long. I second coach Vint advice on the Menger Hotel. It was pretty cool and had a neat ambiance! Avoid the Republic of Texas restaurant. We went there very late one night and it was brutal. We did brunch at The River's Edge Cafe and Patio Bar and it was pretty solid.

Been to San Antone twice. Great time.I usually pride myself in telling people specific good places to go to but I haven't gone wrong in SA. Stay on the riverwalk, keep it local (stay away from hard rock and chains like that) and you want be disappointed. Although as a californian, whataburger is worth a try. Its good. Just dont compare it to in n out. Theyre different. Very good, but different. Appreciate them for what theyre worth instead of trying to compare them haha

San Antonio is awesome!! Just got back from vacation there a few days ago!! If you're into rollercoasters Six Flags is fun, but I really enjoyed Sea World and the shows they have there. Just my preference thought. The River Walk is a must in San Antonio. The river boat cruise on the river walk is pretty cool. Down by the Alamo there is a Ripley's Believe it or Not and Wax Museum thats pretty neat. If you are down by the Alamo I would highly recommend a place called Moses Roses to eat at! Its only a few block away from the Alamo and it has really good food and drinks.
