Looking for a list of D2-D3, NAIA school that run the option. Can be from under center, pistol, etc. Midwest/Northeastern areas. Any help you can give would be great.

Ripon College in WI runs Flexbone Triple. The OC there is always open to helping out other teams.

Some of the FCS schools that are non-schol run it. Why does the level matter?

Some of the FCS schools that are non-schol run it. Why does the level matter? I have a current option QB that might be a solid fit for their system. He could play in any spread offense, just is a very good option QB

If a kid is NAIA or D2 quality he's non-schol FCS quality 9/10 times. Citadel, VMI.

VMI is no longer flex at the moment. They try to sling it a bunch more from the gun from what I herd.

I don't know for sure, but Southern Virginia might be Flexbone. The HC is Joe DuPaix who I coached for.
He was the OC at Cal Poly a few years back, before spending some time at Navy.
Great coach.

They aren't in that area, but Washington and Lee is a DIII school in VA who runs triple from the Pistol Carson-Newman (DII) in Jefferson City, TN is the last SBV team standing in college football, AFAIK. I think their conference opponents in NC, Lenoir-Rhyne and Mars Hill, both still run triple from under center as well. I've heard they've been getting away from it in recent years, but Ferris St. University in Michigan was one of the most well-known Pistol flexbone teams around a few years ago.

Their OC claims to be the one who invented Midline. Larry Beckish? It's Kenny Wheaton, but he's not OC. My mistake. At least 4 guys I know of claim to have invented Midline.

In the Northeast:
Springfield College (D-III) in Springfield, MA and Maine Maritime (D-III) in Castine, ME both run the triple from under center.

William Penn was running flexbone at one point. They are... our FB from last year is playing for them currently. If I remember correctly, Peru State and Benedictine also run some option stuff in that conference. Benedictine doing less than the others I believe.

Benedictine is not much of a option team, that would be like calling nw Missouri state a option team, although Benedictine is no northwest, don't know much about peru, haven't seen them in a long time, I thought there use to be a split back team out in montana, I don't know who invented the midline, but jim whacker had a heck of a book on it, we started to run it in 94, didn't block it like people do now

I know he's running some stuff we did back then, but mut not be much of it.
