Ampipe. They had multiple D1 players on that team, and their goal line defense in the middle of the field would stop West Cannan, Dillon, Permian, etc. Plus Billy Bob wouldn't be cleared to play nowadays with his concussions. That's disrespectful the Western PA team wasn't included in the original list! Plus they have the best fictional head coach ever, Craig T Nelson! He went from small school ball all the way to D1 HC!!!

This is a great, light-hearted, pre-camp thread. The scary thing however, is that the vast majority of people think this is real. They think this is how football programs operate.

Dillion vs West Canyan at Jerry World in the Smi finals would be a shoot out, but Coach Taylor's team holds on, on a last second hail mary from Sacrasen to some WR you've never heard of. Plus the feature backs, Smash and Windell would go wild in this contest.
The Final, TC Williams grinds it out with the veer (which the Panthers havent seen much of) never letting the Dillion O on the field, and their D causes fits for the Panthers shutting down the running game.
Man, I am enjoying this thread.

Kirkpatrick vs TC Williams in the final in lets the Dome in Indy. TC Williams discipline blows out Kirkpatrick. The Rock goes back to wearing tight t-shirts and working out after the game.

Steph wouldn't have been very happy though.

I'll take Odessa Permian. Winchell leading the offense with Billingsley, Comer, and Boobie Miles in the backfield with leadership like Brian Chavez and Ivory Christian on defense.

None of you guys grew up reading Gil Thorp? No love for the Milford Mudlarks?
How about Chip Hilton and the Valley Falls Big Reds and their storied rivalry against the Steeltown Miners?

There is a great line in "All The Right Moves", though. After the first series in the Ampipe-Walnut Heights game, the Walnut Heights offense is coming off the field and one of the coaches grabs an offensive lineman and asks what the problem is. The kid says, "They are taking out our legs" (or something to that effect). The coach says something like "I don't want to hear that crap...get it done!" I love that part. Every HS team has that coach whose main adjustment is to scream, "Hit Somebody!"

I grew up reading the Chip Hilton book series written by the great Basketball Coach Clair Bee.
Still read Gil Thorp every Monday thru Saturday in comics.

Some of those original Chip Hilton books are worth a fortune. I actually had the books my dad had when he was a kid in the '50s. Sadly, they were garage saled probably 25 years ago.

Don't feel too bad. The collector's items that bring in big bucks are in mint condition which, if you read them as a kid, yours probably wasn't. I used to feel bad about the old comic books (I jumped on the Marvel bandwagon early) until I realized that the chocolate milk stains and fold marks from when I hid them in my math book made them pretty useless.

Played DE in the movie, but wasn't he a LB in reality?

I'm going with Permian. With most of the team back they went 16-0 the following year and were ranked nationally.

You guys are all forgetting about one major wild card team. The BMS Goats. Thad would eat every single one of these RBs up and offer them a cool, refreshing mojito afterwards. Lol

I'll take TC Williams and their 52 Monster D. Two best defensive players arguably in Hollywood history. Imagine if they went two ways like they did in the final vs Marshall, talk about really putting your foot down if you really need to and just play people both ways.
