We just had a player transfer from another school. At old school, he bought his own helmet. Had it reconditioned/re certified this winter. His helmet is maroon and we have white helmets. Does anyone have suggestions on how we should go about getting it repainted?

I would go to your recondition guy and see what he can do. I was at a school and they got a couple of helmets from another school and they took it to a car guy who painted them. They chipped up bad. Unless you going to do the rudy thing and paint them every sunday. Plus painting them yourself will void the warranty.

If you paint it, the warranty is done. Someone NOCSAE certified has to do it... I wanted to paint a broad stripe on my team's facemasks this year, was told if something goes wrong, the liability is off the helmet company. So guess who it then falls on...

We sent it to the same place that does the recondition for a move-in that had his own helmet a couple years ago, had no problems at all with paint matching, etc.

Like the others have said, whoever reconditions your helmets should repaint them.

A paint job is part of reconditioning. So call your rep and he will hook it up.

Like others have said, talk to your rep, they will paint it for you. Definitely do not try to do it yourself, it will probably turn out terrible and void the warranty.
