So we've had the pants, shirt, shoes, what you eat topics. Now before the pre season starts heating up what style hat do you wear? Or do you go sans hat?
Practice: Team logo bucket style or "floppy" hat to cover my neck and ears. When it gets cold, as it does in MN, I bring out the beanie.
Generally I don't wear a hat on game night, unless it's cold then it's the beanie.

I rarely wear a hat. If the weather demands it then just a team ballcap, either for rain or the few times in camp that are really hot.

One of my coaches just had his second cancer removed from his face. First was from his ear. The latest removal was not fun, an all day event where they would numb, cut, go to waiting room, get results, numb, cut, go to waiting room. Did 3 cycles of that. Went in at 8, was finally done at 630. Think they got it all but he says that wearing a ball cap to practice is no longer an option for him and he is going to become the most reformed coach around, seen the light so to speak. Said that his dermatologist loves to see the coaches come in with all their issues because they could all be prevented with a wider hat and sunscreen.
I am looking big time at the floppy and/or wide brim hats for the coaches and buying sun screen for everyone. Problem is trying to find sun preventive team gear. Almost there. If I find what works we might be looking like the state road crew guys (at least in our area in CA, they are in hats, neck covers, long sleeve everything, all in day glow yellow).
On game nights its the team ballcap. We get some rain during the late season, CA drought and all, but thats about it.

Practice: Team logo bucket hat or team logo baseball cap. When it gets cold, I wear a team logo beanie or another beanie that is our school colors. Game night: Team logo baseball cap or team logo beanie.

I grew up on ball caps. Where I'm from men wear hats. As I got into coaching and then had some divots cut out of me by the dermatologist I've moved to the bucket hat. I've considered moving further into the shade with a sombrero or chinaman's hat.

I like anything I can wad up and stick in my pocket for practice, so I tend to get bucket hats or boonies. I like the basic ball cap or beaning for games.

Cheap team logo ball cap because you always need to toss it down to act as a spot or ball marker during Indy drills--visors don't seem to work as well on this side of the ball....

I love the floppy hat, and I'll wear it for just about every practice. I'm partial to the gawdy retro style visors, mainly because they're gawdy and make me look like a jerk. And I think that's hilarious.
I'm really super picky about the hats that I wear. A visor is way more flexible and the length of my hair doesn't impact how well it can fit. The last few hats we've had never sit right on my head.

Usually a baseball hat. Sometimes team, sometimes not. This is at practice. If I wear a hat at the game it is the team cap, or a beanie of whatever variety because it's cold and I don't give two what nots what you think.
Thinking of getting the bucket hat this year to decrease on sunscreening my head area.
Also hats are a pain for me because I have a giant dome. I wear an 8 in fitted hats. Not always easy getting things in my size.

I shave my hair completely off, so I'm a baseball hat guy pretty much any time I am not in my classroom.

For about 5 years now I've been all in on wide brimmed straw hats. My mom's had two trips to get stuff cut off her face and I'm not keen on being a cautionary tale. I wear long sleeves or pullovers just about all the time, too.
I've been considering moving on to the boonie style hats since I won't have to replace them as often, but I can't find them in the WIDE brims I like.

Last year from time to time I wore a team cap even though I never previously never wore hats (big head). Going into my second year of coaching and having a steady job now I will look into a bucket hat and some shades as the sun shows no mercy during practice even on colder days.

Suncloud is my brand for sunglasses. $35-50 for comfortable, polarized glasses, can't beat it.

if we're going into sunglasses for me it's the cheapest pair of black polarized glasses I can find. I have a toddler who loves glasses. I can't risk them getting broke for more than that.
