Looking to build an OL chute for this spring. I was thinking of just using PVC pipes and saving money. Would it be worth doing or should I just get a professional one?
Also, what should be the dimensions for a Jr. high chute?

I tlked to my shop guys and unles I can get some galvanized steel or AL donated the cost (because of huge medal price surge from Oil) makes it better to buy new.

coachbb...I made my own adjustable height ONE MAN chute for JR high kids...might have cost 20-30 bucks. Yes, being a one man chute led to a few less reps, but I still felt it contributed to some success, PLUS I didn't really have much to worry about in terms of injury (ie, kid stands up, slams into chute...and WHO CARES..it is tiny PVC pipe) Also, it was very portable.

PVC is light and portable, but I've seen homemade chutes get busted up. I think PVC chutes would work well with Pee-Wee or middle school, but if a high school kid runs into the chute, it could/will break. I know money is tight, but buying a professionally made, metal chute is well worth it.

i made the chutes in 1 day at my last school. PVC and 6x6 blocks of wood. wasn't adjustablem but didn't need to be. I would think heighth should be about 3.5 to 4 feet and 3-3.5 wide for each chute.

As far as I know, Jr. High doesn't have spring practice.

No uhh... he said for this spring. As far as I know, Jr. High doesn't have spring practice. To clarify, I am at a JH/MS. We don't have spring football with pads, but we do start working on some technique stuff in the spring. Good responses thus far, I am looking into a couple different options.

With that additional info I think PVC might just be the best way to go.
Dimensions 35"-40" Height 42" Wide 50" Deep
