Replacements for synthetic polymer helmets to something softer and more cushioning, stem-cell replacement therapy, laser surgery that will cut down recovery times, human cloning, a move away from the 11-on-11 game to a 7-on-7 game, analytics that change aspects of the game relating to strategy and scheme, simplification of learning techniques in an ability to impart information more clearly and efficiently to players, brain-related technology that allows for information to be delivered directly to areas of the brain affecting learning and memory, and legalized HGH that will push the boundaries of human performance. These are just a few ideas off the top of my head.

You'll see teams with bigger athletes like Newton who can take the pounding, running QB power etc more often. I think teams will punt less and onside kick more. I also think that cut blocks will be outlawed. Eventually everything will recycle. Right now things are trending more towards the pass and having the best athletes on the field ie Cardinals using a safety as a LB. Well eventually teams will go back to running downhill from heavy personnel to take advantage just like the 49ers were doing with Harbaugh and they'll be successful because teams won't have the players to combat it.

The biggest thing I think everyone is correct about is the initial HS/prep/amateur level becoming more club/AAU oriented. Right now the only reason most high schools continue to sponsor football is because they all think that if they drop it, they will lose some students & any money attached to them to other schools. I wouldn't be shocked if a waterfall of schools dropping football & maybe other sports although I also wouldn't be shocked if most schools stubbornly hold onto their athletic programs to retain their student populations.

This is a really good point. As we move closer and closer to the unionization of college athletes, I can see the NFL instituting something akin to the NBA's D-League. I think that eventually, many of these student-athletes could price themselves out of the market. And, to be perfectly realistic, a large contingent aren't interested in the student portion of the student-athlete moniker. So, it eliminates the necessity of that pretense.
