IMO, this "impending crisis" at QB is as overblown now as it always has been. They said the same thing back in the '70's when many of the top teams were running the wishbone. The fact is that in any given year there are only a few really good QB prospects and that's no less true now than it's ever been.

Sky = Roll Weak side Sky = Buzz Cloud = Squat
It's all C3 in the end. There is NO universal football terminology.
This article is from WSJ, the money rag. They don't have a sports section. The purpose of the article was about the team that can 'break the code' on not having to dole out 1/3 of your cap space on a single player will break the NFL merchandise bank.
It's got nothing to do with football.

Watching a little ball on tape, there is not a lot of really good teaching going. Lots of good x&o, but the teaching is terrible. Just my take on that. Somebody needs to ask how you draft a Qb who doesn't know coverage basics.

The first thing I thought when I read this article is the point that came up in the middle of the thread: I read countless threads here about the middle schools "running our system", "being vertically integrated", "using the same terminology" etc. Now I see a bunch of HS coaches saying how stupid the NFL is for complaining that colleges aren't doing the same thing.
Bottom line, the NFL is a horribly "inbred" institution. It has been for a while, and as such things are done a certain way. The lack of outside influences is essentially creating a homogeneous methodology not just in coaching schematics, but in how an organization is run from top to bottom. Add to that the fact that the NFL rules have made it an "NFL style" (Brady, Manning, Luck, Rogers etc) quarterback league and now many of those "inbred" coaches and members of management simply do not know how to operate without a top notch "NFL Style" guy, and in the current NFL environment you can't "make" a qb.

You either make a player better, or get a better player... That's the coaches choice.
