Hey Coaches,
I'm a player/defensive coordinator for the Juiz de Fora Red Fox, in the State of Minas Gerais, Brazil. I have been playing this game since i was 15, when we only played football in the beaches of Rio de Janeiro. Now football has evolved a lot in Brazil and we have two National Championships (like the time there was AFL and NFL) and playing football with full equipment. My team doesn't compete in that level yet.
My team doesn't have equipments for everybody (just a few are of the team, mostly are of the players themselves) so we still don't play full pads everytime. But we play full speed, tackle and we're not afraid to get hurt doing so. I have played Middle Linebacker since the beginning and still do so, also Fullback, but i'm a defense guy. I'm also the defensive coordinator of my team. We play 4-3 under as base defense, but i have a little 46 Bear and Wide 9 in the playbook. In terms of coverage I prefer cover 1 man to man, but have Cover 3 a lot, and a little cover 4.
The most important thing is that I love football just like you coaches (soccer isn't for me lol) and I use to visit some coachs sites (hoover, brophy, blitzoly, etc..) and have recently discovered this site that has been really helpful.
Would love to talk football anytime, so we can trade experience: gabriel.cia@uol.com.br.
We have a lot of difficultes to play football here, but we will never give up, i love this game too much. ALWAYS OVERCOME ADVERSITY, NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE.
With my compliments, Gabriel Coelho - MLB #54 and DC - JF Red Fox - Brazil

Not sure how I've been here for a while and never saw this thread.
Currently OC/QB Coach at Paris HS (TX) - Been at Paris 7 years now. While at Paris, besides what I do now, I've coached D-Line, O-Line, TEs, and FBs.
Previous coaching stop at Bay City HS (TX)
Was coached in HS by Dan Gonzalez who is a frequent contributor on this site. Needless to say, he has had a big influence on me as a coach.

Howdy y'all,
I'm a youth coach in the suburbs of Dallas. I'm currently the OC for a youth team in Mesquite and have been coaching for 4 years now. As are many football coaches at the youth level, I'm frustrated with the general lack of education and quality of youth coaches. I'm blessed to have some good coaches in my organization and in the community. I'm working hard to get with our Jr. High/Middle School staff to put in place a version of their systems, trying to get kids from our program ready to step into theirs on day one. Like a lot of late to the game coaches I have a son playing, although I try and coach the other kids and let the staff coach him. I've worked primarily with QB's and RB's, but I'm getting down in the dirt with the OL more this year. I got to attend a Glazier presentation by Coach Huey himself on how he teaches his zone blocking and I was sold. Thanks for the advice I'm going to get in advance, I've got a lot to catch up on.

Hi, I'm entering my first season as an Offensive Coordinator for a midget tier 1 team in Alberta, Canada. Even though I am young, (20), I have already coached for many seasons of football. In total i have been a part of 5 Championship teams as a coach, 1 as a Defensive Coordinator for a Peewee team, 4 as an offensive line coach for teams in peewee, bantam and midget. In total, I played 9 seasons of football, where i was a part of a High School league Championship, Midget League Championship, and an appearance in the tier 4 Provincial Championship which we lost by a hefty margin. For individual awards I won Co-Defensive Line MVP in Midget, Linemen of the year in High School, Pride and Determination award in High School, and also a league all star plaque in High School. Although I enjoyed my time as a player in football, I truly enjoy coaching more. I'm hoping in the future i get more opportunities to coach at a higher level, coaching football is something I would love to do for a long time.
Thanks

Good Mourning Coaches I'm HC-OC. I'm a student and advocate of Wing T and 50 style Defenses as were very multiple with our 50 front.I'm also very open to learning new schemes techniques practice innovations and good old debate if you have a clue what you are talking about. So far i love the site and AM looking forward to meeting fellow Coaches and EXCHANGING good sound football strategys. I've been fortunate enough to win 80 % of the games that I've Head Coached and won several State Championships along the way as I've had 3 stops over 14 yr Coaching Career(cause that's what it is at this point)and still only 35 so i know i have a whole lot to learn and get better at and still feel i have yet to put together my greatest work.

Hello fellow coaches. I am the O-Line coach and assistant OC at a small 8 man school in Oklahoma. I have been there for 4 years and love every second of it.
I played for 3 years in high school and didn't get to play my senior year due to injury. I consider myself lucky to say I was coached by one of the greatest O-Line & D-Line coaches in Oklahoma, the great Bill Scott. We were a Wing-T team on O and a 4-3 team on D.
But now that I am coaching I am trying to adapt the Wing-T to the 8 man football game. Our team has traditionally been a I Formation team but hopefully we can add in some new stuff next season. We have also dabbled in some pro and spread as well. Defensively we run a 3-2 and occasionally and 4-1.
But that's pretty much it for me. If you want to talk some 8 man football send me a PM anytime.

I am an offensive coordinator in northeast Nebraska. I also coach the offense and defensive lines. We are class C1 with our largest classes in the state starting with A, then B, C1, C2, D1, D2, and 6 man.
I played offensive line for a division II school in college. We run mostly spread with 10 personnel sets.

How's it going ya'll. I'm a first year WR coach in California. I'm very young, only 19, and still in college. I played football in HS, and have a lot of connections in the NFL and college football scene. Hopefully I can get there in due time, but for now I'm very happy coaching HS football. I played receiver and linebacker in HS.
Right now, I'm learning that my HS program is running a spread pistol offense, with a 4-2-5 scheme on defense. I'm excited to get to work with the team this summer, and can't wait to share my successes with the team. If anyone has any advice for a first year coach, I would love to hear it. Thanks ya'll. Oh, and WAR EAGLE!

I will be the head football coach at Mercer County HS, in Harrodsburg, KY for the 2015 season. I have just completed 19 seasons as the head football coach at Mason County HS , in Maysville, KY and was previously the head football coach at Paris HS ( 1992-1995) in Paris, KY. I am a coach's son. That has had a big impact on who I am and how I coach. You can learn more about me at Black Shoes & White Shoestrings: Football & Life Lessons from Old CoachesI have heard great things about this board. I should have joined a long time ago! Hey Coaches, I'm going into my third year as a freshmen coach at a high school in Madison, WI and we've gone 16-2 the last 2 years. My primary focus in on O/D line and have called both sides of the ball. I one day hope to turn this into a full time career.
My primary focus is offense and have been learning everything I can about the Flexbone after running a version of it this past season. I'm slowly working on a YouTube series to better explain the concepts as there doesn't appear to be a lot of video content out there.
Finding this board has been great and I appreciate all of you who take the time to answer questions from guys like me

Hello Fellow Coaches. Coaching OLine and DLine here on the Central Coast of California. Born and Raised in the area. At a school that has been playing 11 man football for 5 years and have as many wins in that stretch.
Experience;
•Played 3 years of Varsity football reaching 3 sectional titles only to win the last trip. Zone blocking scheme pro style offense. •Played and started two years at monterey peninsula college. 8-2 first year 10-1 second year. Pro style offense. •Played 2 years at the University of Arkansas Monticello (D2) 4-7 first year 5-6 second year running a no huddle spread option based offense.
Current situation;
•Coaching OLine / Dline for a team the runs a simple flexbone veer and triple option offense and defensively they run the 4-4 split.
Needless to say, along with learning a new scheme and lack of actual coaching experience, I am grateful for this board and I apologize in advance if I bombard you all with questions. Thanks again! Coach L

Hi. Register, and tell us as much or as little as you want about yourself. Understand, this is a message board on the internet, so giving out real names and where you actually coach might not be the best idea (feel free to do so on pm's though ) But just tell us what you like to run on offense, defense so we can get an idea what school of football you are coming from. There are so many semantics issues that confuse people on football boards sometimes it gets frustrating and people can get confused/aggravated. Let's nip that in the bud and we can get a good idea at least where you are coming from when you talk about different things. oh yeah. Have some fun, talk some ball, this site has some great coaches on here contributing. I have been conversing with many by email/in person/or other message boards for a long time and the knowledge already here would make a great staff. (now, who gets to be the hc? huey? )

Hello fellow coaches. Coach Hall here, I am the def. coordinator for a small school Jr. Hi. in pennsylvania. This is the 2 year of this stint, i had 2 years previously. We are transitioning to a 6-2 from a 5-3 because of our abundance of D-linemen, this is far and away our strength. I will be 58 this year so its a little late to start. But it is exactly what i want to do.

Coach Murray New Brunswick Canada. I am the Assistant HC and DC of a local high school here. Started coaching about 10 years ago and haven't been able to stop since. Always looking to get better and learn more. I love talking with other coaches and sharing ideas. My teams have traditionally run a 43 but are switching to a 44 quarters (We play 3 down 12 man ball here). I have done some OC work and love to run the ball. I focus on DBs as a positional group. I played ball for about 6 years (late starter).
Like many above I appreciate any time you guys give me. Love to collect info. Look forward to chatting with some of you.

Hey guys. Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm located in sportsman's paradise.. louisiana.
Hs-5A OL.. we ran wing t and double wing LB.. 4-3
Semipro for 10 years as a player.. we ran a very multi faceted offense. From pro I to numerous spread attacks. Won 3 championships. Always played as C
Coaching I have coached the past 3 years. 3 in semipro and this is my first year coaching a college prep team. I have been OC in all coaching stops. I like to keep my playbook simple. Mainly formation the defense to death and make them think too much causing confusion . So multi set here

Marine and college student looking for my first coaching position. I live in the Atlanta Metro Area. Former cornerback at 5,11 190. I believe in physicality and hard work. The ball belongs to the defense and the ball is attacked every single play. I believe in intimidation through physicality and fair play. Do everything within the rules to get the ball back for the offense. I grew up in Chicago and idolized Charles Tillman and the ball punch.
At 26, I feel I'm very relatable to the players, but i want my knowledge to shine through. Feel free to PM me about any assistant opportunities in the Atlanta area.

35 yrs old, just started coaching amateur football in Northern Europe. Official title would be defensive coordinator, with DB's being my main position both formerly as player and coach. Also passing game coordinator and finding an increased interest in QB training and throwing mechanics. Fascinating.

Howdy y'all! New to the site. My experience: 14 years coaching 4 sports in rural western states.
OC/HC for a 1A school in Colorado DC for a 3A school in Wyoming 1st year HC for a 1A school in Idaho
Trying to learn and adapt an 11 man game/strategy into an 8 man game. Darn near impossible! Would love to chat with all coaches but especially those in the small town leagues of 8 man. Luckily, we have talent across the board with 30+ kids, an OL that will avg 230+ lbs, and good speed at the skill positions. Should be a good year. Time will tell. Great site BTW...

Hey guys.
I'm a college student (freshman) right now at the University of Georgia, and I just got the idea to volunteer for schools to help coach. It's probably too late for this fall but I've in contact with a couple about coming this spring.
I played in high school until I destroyed my knee & discovered a knee thing I had, my kneecaps are to the side of where they should be. Fixed the left, not the right yet so I stopped playing. I played RDE and ILB in a 34 and LT.

A great place to coach would be at Prince Avenue. It's right off the connector from 78 and not that far of a drive. The HC is a legend and the DC is a former college coach. I learned a lot from just being around those two. Be prepared to put in a lot of work though if you do decide to help out over there.

I actually emailed them and asked about volunteering (for the spring ofc). Them and another school are two that have responded back and will have me in the Spring.
I coached soccer during high school (my senior year). I coached the JV and the Goalies, so next Spring I'm going to try to help with the Special Teams/Special Units (K/P/LS/H). Kicking and Punting are similar enough to the technique used in soccer, only difference is the ball drop/style/placement.
And Go Dawgs!

If a player asks you what his assignment is on a given play and you aren't sure don't be embarrassed to say "Hold on. I'll go find out for you."........The players will understand you're a young coach and they won't lose respect for you. In fact they will probably gain respect because you went out of your way to find out from a vet instead of feeding him BS or simply saying I don't know.
