What can be done to help with the locker room smell during the season? Those of us in there every day don't mind it but anyone else can't stand it.

ventilation is the most important thing. A big fan or better yet a proper air mover and run it as much as possible.

Is there any kind of machine, spray etc that we could put in the locker room to help?

Get a fogger and concentrate for under $200. It will last for years.
I spray about once a week. It helps with odor and smells and kills bacteria, viruses, flu, colds, fungus, MSRA, AIDS, rotovirus, etc.
The mist will disenfect all surfaces it lands on including helmets, pads, trash cans, lockers, sinks, toilets, and showers.
Easy to use. Just add some concentrate and water and plug in.

I will also add to get your kids to wash their stuff. Ours are allowed to use our washer and dryer if necessary. Wash your pennies and towels every day. Have a commercial size fan in the locker room. Have a AC in the locker room. Change the filters. Get a janitor to install a little spray thing that hangs on wall and shoots a spray every hour. Get the janitors to clean bathrooms as much as possible. Don't have carpet if you can help it. Get rubber mats like a weight room. This will greatly reduce odor.

Have them take their stuff home after especially hot or wet days.
