I am watching the broadcast of North Dakota-San Jose State from last week on ESPN3 for a project I am working on, and the color commentator is former Fresno State head coach Pat Hill. He is doing a great job and is giving a lot of insight.

It absolutely sickens me that Pat Hill is a commentator and Lane Kiffin continues getting jobs.

Kiffin keeps getting fired too, though.

From what I've heard, Hill can't even get one.

His age may be against him.
Also he only won one WAC title (tied) at Fresno State, was 4-7 in bowls, finished in Top 25 once.
Pretty good for Bulldogs but unless he's willing to go down a level his HC days are probably done.
Why did he leave Falcons' OL job?

No idea. Haven't really kept up with him since Fresno. Just always really liked him.

So he's 60-something, been fired twice in last three years - maybe he doesn't WANT another coaching job.
Being TV analyst keeps you involved with the game without the headaches, pressure, stress.

Very well possible. My remark was more a snarky commentary on the fact that Lane Kiffin keeps getting hired despite continuing to be a jack hole.

I'd say this is very possible. He mentioned he coached for more than 40 years. Plus, he's pretty enjoyable in the role. I wouldn't be surprised to see him get some better games soon.
