I always point things out to the kids and call them out whenever I can. I tell my RBs that if they want to run the ball, they must first block for their teammates. I call my wide receivers "wide blockers" because I won't throw them the ball if they're not willing to first block. You can't be successful at blocking if you're not tough because it requires both effort and contact to be successful.

Was talking to a former NFL GM about measuring toughness last week, and one thing he mentioned that absolutely is a part of how he measured it defensively is charting tackles. Upon contact did the offensive player gain an additional two yards, 0 yards, -1 yards? He said a guy with -1 yard tackle rate was exceptionally tough, 0 yards great, 1 yard okay, 2 yards and more started to question toughness. If a guy had a tackle rate of 2, then instead of 3rd and 5 it is 3rd and 3. Thought that was an interesting idea...
