Ironically, while I'm reading a thread about coaches who get $10,000 stipends we're finding out that coaching stipends are being cut 25% in our city. Is anything like this happening near you? Daily Press

Your link didn't work, but stipends have been getting cut in Illinois for years due to the state being a wreck financially.
Not the actual pay of the stipend being cut, but positions are just eliminated. We only have 3 paid spots (including the HC) at my current school. Luckily our coop schools pay for an additional 3 coaches.

Daily PressIn my area/district, I don't know that the stipends are being reduced (I haven't been in the game in a few years) BUT salaries have been frozen for the last 5 years, and stipends are a % of salaries, so in that respect they have been lessened.

We see the same with frozen salaries. Many districts have been frozen for 2-3 years, but I know of a few that have been frozen for 7+. It is also very common in my area for schools to eliminate positions. When I first become a head coach in 2005, we had 5 paid varsity assistant positions. By 2009, we were down to 3 paid positions. I've since moved on to a school with 1 paid HC position, 7 varsity paid assistants, 2 JV paid positions, 2 freshmen paid positions. It really depends on your school and whether or not it can pass levies in my area.

Yea depends on the district. #1 reason y I would turn down a big job 6K pay cut and there HC is leaving 20K pay raise, Not just football money though
