Wanted to see how everyone's association handles coaching ejections.
Our association fines the school $500 and the Coach $250. My particular school makes the coach pay the school's fine as well. The coach is also suspended from the following game.
I was suspended from a baseball game a few years back for telling the umpire that he blew a call because he was just in a hurry to get home and watch NASCAR. (he had a mullet and around 4 teeth) I really EARNED that $250 fine.

For us it's another game, a sportsmanship class and a face to face with the superintendent Monday.

No fines If you're ejected you have to miss the next game, same as the players

No fines If you're ejected you have to miss the next game, same as the players In our association the first time the player is suspended it is on the school to discipline... but the next is a suspension for a week.. the 3rd is for the year I believe.

In rhode island if a player or coach gets ejected from a game they have to also sit out the next game.

No Fines If you are ejected you miss that game and the next.
There was actually a local Head Coach on the sidelines of a JV game. He was harassing the ref's, told them to remember who signs their pay checks. Was ejected from the JV game and wasn't allowed to coach his team the next Friday.

Our association actually will eject and fine fans... and with this comes a fine for the school. The fan must pay the fine and write a letter of apology in order to attend another event.
Our school makes the fan pay the school fine too, or they are not allowed back to a home game.
You could really cause some damage if you went around in other school's shirts yelling at the reffs from the sideline.

I've been in two games where the opposing HC was ejected but never our team's. Getting ejected seems to be a baseball thing.

I know in Illinois it's a game suspension and I believe it is in Iowa too, but I can't say I've ever seen it either.

I believe for us it is a sit in with the athletic director and head coach, which leads to a discussion panel at the UIL in Austin, where your fate will be determined by the directors board.
from what i hear it is an unpleasant trip, being in the same vehicle as the athletic director who has just suspended you for a game with no pay, and awaiting to see if any further action will be taken by the hierarchy, which could lead to more game suspensions or possibly a year.
Our HC warns us at the beginning of the school year to not talk to officials, that is his job. Our job is to coach not referee the game, if there is a concern talk it over with the HC through the headset. if you do not have a head set then you shouldnt be talking, you should be telling kids and coaches to get behind the yellow line!!!
