Just curious, outside of Texas where all coaches are in the building, how many coaches do your schools have in the building. We have ranged from 2-4, are at 2 right now. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using proboards

Potential is just a cute way of saying you haven't done anything.

Two seasons ago there were no coaches on campus. Been to playoffs the last 8 seasons.
Past season, different school, 4 of 11 were on campus.
Before that it's generally 3-5 of 8-11 coaches.

We have a 7 man staff--two freshmen coaches and then five for sophomore through senior. The two freshmen coaches plus me are fully employed in the HS while our HC is fully employed in the middle school.

4 coaches in the building out of 6... Plus 2 former coaches who volunteer but had to give up coaching due to young families.

4 out of 6 positions (Var/JV combined) are in building. The other 2 assistants...1 lives in the community, the other 10 minutes away and they work together in another district together about 30 minutes away.
Junior High...3 in HS, 1 in MS

Currently we have 2 out of 5. Myself and the HC.
One year we had 4 out of 5 under the a different HC, but the HC and the LBs coach were in the middle school, but we are a smaller school were K-12 is all in the same building just different wings.

5 of the paid 6 are in the school, the other works outside of education. Have 2 significant volunteers, 1 is retired and the other works outside of education as well.
Last school it fluctuated but at one point all the staff was employed by the school, 7 for 7 paid.

Right now 2 (me and the HC), which is INSANE to me. Every other stop I've been at at least 80% of the coaches have been school (or at least district) employees. I just dont see how people with non education jobs get the time off for coaching, then again most of them are gone all offseason.

Varsity HC, Varsity STC, Varsity DB coach, Varsity WR coach, JV HC, JV DC, JV OL (campus security), Frosh DBs are all in the building.
This is a very unusual situation in this part of CA, you'd think the program would be better than it is (perennial 3rd place in league and early exit in playoffs).

2 years ago, I was the only one... and I really wasn't full time on campus, I was an every day sub that the principal got to work here every day
this last season we had 3... one on each level
myself (var assistant HC/OC) JV HC frosh HC
we all teach PE together and get along really well... i consider both the other guys friends and it makes work nice working and coaching with guys i enjoy hanging out/BSing with
next year we are adding a couple... they are not coaches we got added as teachers, they are teachers who have decided they want to coach... they both say they have previous experience (one was JV HC before i got there) but neither has coached in the 4 years I've been here
I am happy to get the extra on campus support (one is helping frosh, one is helping JV) our school is wall to wall academies, and each of the new teachers is in one of the 4 academies, so it should help with keeping an eye on kids... making sure they are handling business in the class room
I am hoping it works out well, but I have never seen either coach... so I always worry some when adding coaches
we have a lot of off campus coaches including the HC he has a fairly flexible schedule which allows him to come down to the school when he really needs to during the day, but he definitely has to rely on me to get a lot of the day to day business of the program going
i like it actually, it has given me a lot of experience and insight into being a HC.

Co-ops are pretty common in the small school divisions of Illinois. Two schools--or in larrymoe's case three schools--come together to form one team. Again these are small schools. For example, the combined enrollment of his program--all three schools put together--is around 350, maybe not even that big. My previous coaching job was at a different co-op program in IL and our combined enrollment for three schools was only 375 or so.
