Trying to think of any good mottos to put on the back of our t shirts this year. Brand new coaching staff, brand new defense/offense, small low income school district, lost our QB/captain for the season due to an unrelated injury this summer, and they haven't had too much success in recent years. Any thoughts that could be unique to us?

Here is what we went with this season. "All We Got. All We Need."

That could apply to most teams in the country.

I know it's cliché now, but for us "win the day" works great: we even haven't got enough players to be eligible for the coming competition, only 3 players have previous football experience, but we are vastly improving. After every practice I tell the players something short in which we improved or need to improve in order to win the day.
Helps you set very small goals, which is the way to go for programs that are far behind.

Deeds not words, was our motto last year
Watching hard knocks, I saw the bengals were using,"Success, A lot of little things done well" which I like.

Very relevant to the kids. Arkansas uses this and I really like it.
Win the next rep in the weight room and on the practice field. Beat your opponent on the next play. Win the next game.

We used "Let's go to work." every time we broke out for individual on defensive days. I would read them our "workload" for the day and then told them it's time to "earn that check". First game of the season we were about to walk out of the locker room to the field and my defensive captain stopped me and said "Coach, aren't you forgetting something? We haven't cashed that check yet." "Gentlemen, LET'S GO TO WORK!" Talk about a team internalizing a message. Made me proud of my boys.

For this offseason I designed 24 hoodys for guys who make atleast 90 percent of summer workouts. They say, Every Rep, Every Set, Every Sprint. Then in larger letters below that it says, Every Day. Took it from Arizona State.

I.D. = Improve Daily
A very good coach I know used this. He would walk into team meetings and say, "ready, ready." The team would shout, "I.D.!!!" This may not be anything new, but I had never seen anyone use it. I thought it was cool.
One could also use it as a two fold message. As we all know, I.D. stands for identification, and with any new team, you better find your identity or the "struggles" of the past will be the "struggles of the future.

I think ours this year will be "DBAP" - Don't Be a Puzzy.
Last year at practice I thought I was refereeing a pillow fight.
