I've got it on now. This is interesting. Nothing like you would see on Saturdays nowadays. Thanks for the heads up Coach.

Watched replay of '73 Notre Dame-Alabama Sugar Bowl that decided the National Championship yesterday on ESPN Classic.
Interesting thing was Notre Dame ran some Double Wing including Power-Toss and "Bear" on Defense.
Parseghian was ahead of his time.

This got discussed a bit in a General Board thread entitled "Old School Football on ESPNU." Just thought I'd give you the heads up Coach. Wishbone vs. Double Wing. It was neat to watch.

I could honestly watch old school replays of college football everyday of my life!!
It drives my wife nuts as she says "How addicted are you to football that you actually love to watch games that have already been played and you already know who wins?" ;D
I just love watching the games from the 70s and 80s....it takes me back to being a kid.
The wild thing about it is how "skinny" all the players look compared to today's players. I mean back in the day a 250lb Center was considered HUGE....Now , 250lbs is a LB!!
Then in the 80s you saw guys with more weight on their frames, but alot of them were on steroids as it was still legal back then.

The old school games are awesome to watch the line play. Low, flat backs, and striking with shoulders - very cool. The academys and Georgia Tech still block like this and it is fun to watch. closest thing to football before the days of standing up and stearing with hands.
