I was wondering about this earlier: What do you have with you/on your person at practice and why? Pens, wrist watch, stop watch, practice plan, clipboard, 200 ft of paracord, what? Where do you store this stuff?
Personally, I wear a Nike wristwatch that has a stopwatch feature and an interval timer (if I need it), I wear a big straw hat, and I live with my practice plan tucked into the top of shorts. Not all my shorts have pockets, so I got into the pant-tucking habit with my practice plan and haven't gotten away from it yet. I also wear my whistle around my neck because I'd lose it about 4x as much as I already do.
So, what's your practical survival equipment?

g-shock watch - been wearing it since the 90's now it is cool haha, stopwatch built in whistle on keychain with every key I might need whiteboard and ink pen, from costco - the clicker type, quicker to use clipboard with attendance, practice plan, gameplan, special teams depth chart, routesheet (reminder of what works vs what) straw hat with the under the chin strap always fastened - kids love the look
always have pocketed shorts - cell phone (to check anything on Hudl), car keys, wallet, and MUST have a chapstick... always forget them in office if I take them out...
Big fan of North Face style fleece with many pockets and for the warmth Used to always wear cargo shorts but got too heavy - always 3 pocketed athletic shorts never pants haha

I never wear shorts without pockets. I carry the minimum of stuff. Hat (still wear a baseball-style hat out of habit), whistle, locker keys, pen, practice plan and script (and I make sure that the scout coach has the scout cards), and a bottle of water.
Here's what I don't take: car keys (lost them once. They stay inside now); cell phone (the boss has one); watch (HC times the segments); stop watch (ST guy has one).

Shorts with pockets Boombah shoes Hoodie when weather gets cooler., followed by jacket and gloves. Pants when weather gets cooler. Floppy hat and sun block. Then I switch to ball cap and finally stocking cap when the weather turns colder. Whistle with pen. The cap is taped to the lanyard. Then I always have one. I prefer a red felt tip pen. Practice plan and scripts. Scout cards in binder. My wristwatch is digital so I have my stopwatch. I never bring my cell on the practice field. If there is a real emergency somebody can come get me.

Hot weather - Nike Dri Fit shirt, Nike Shorts, Visor, Sunglasses, whistle. Cold(er) weather - Nike Hoodie/Pullover, Nike Dri Fit pants or sweats, whistle
I left my practice plan, plays, etc on the sideline and got it when needed
I've been a Nike guy since I was a kid and love their dry fit stuff (both for cold and hot weather) and they are great for more active/hands on guys, I had to play on the scout team a lot

1. Cargo shorts (same pair for two years running...might get washed once or twice during the season) 2. Practice plan, O script, D script, ST depth chart (fined $1 if forgotten inside) all in protective covers, ringed together, in front pocket 3. Wrist watch ($1 fine if without) 4. Hat, usually the same baseball style cap been worn for years..now brown from fading in sun 5. Whistle if a D day (I coach kickers on O days) 6. Tee shirt (from the opposing team if possible, just to rub it in...kids love it) 6a. If cold, find the oldest gear possible 7. Cell phone (don't answer it though, $1 fine) 8. School keys 9. Helmet pump 10. Pen ($1 fine if without) 11. Sunglasses
The fine system is amongst the coaches and pays for Saturday breakfast or lunch. Other fines exist, $5 for profanity, $10 for skipping bonfires. Fine maxes out at $25 for an single rant, so if you hit five curse words in one rant, all the rest are free.

Pretty simple myself Shorts Tshirt Baseball hat ( camo bonnie if its hot) Practice plan. Pen for notes I don't bring the following Watch, phone, stop watch, ring or any jewelry We have segment timers or the hc signals and coaching oline I have broke all of the above
Things I should bring more often. A whistel I figure we start on cadence or ball movement and I'm looking for 100% tag off on d so some other coach can worry about it. Did have a coach at a light contact camp chew my ass for not having one.
A coat trying to keep the tough guy don't bitch I'm in shorts and a shirt and its raining but spent 3 days in the hospital with a pneuomona last year so might be time to work smarter.

G shock on my wrist Whistle around neck Nike shorts shoes and socks T shirt Occasionally a hoody
Used to always rock the jumbo straw hat but they always rip on me so I got a Gilligan style hat, and I keep the drawstring tight or it falls off my head
Every pair of shorts I own has 2 pockets, cell phone in right pocket Keys, original Chapstick and practice plan in left pocket
I bring my backpack to field with me, it goes under the goalpost with some water and my gum in it I can't not chew gum

Does the profanity fine include in the booth? Fine applies if a kid hears it, however, kicks up to $20 if general public may possibly hear it. Since most video guy are on/in the booth, it applies.

I am pretty basic. Practice plan, whistle, and a pen attached the lanyard the whistle is on. I gave up on the watch this year as we now have our manager with a whiteboard and a horn for our 5 minute segments. During the summer, we start when the grass is still wet so I also bring a 2nd pair of socks to change into during a break once it the grass is dry.

pretty basic: clothes-always shorts, t-shirt/long sleeve/hoodie depending on weather hat if the weather calls or I remember (regular school baseball hat) and the kids make fun of me because I am constantly moving it around Practice plan/Script, typically tucked in the waist band Keys go in the ball bag Not clothes but I've also started to see the light when it comes to sunblock on the ears/nose/neck
Another coach I work pretty close with keeps track of time, I could probably use a whistle but I'm constantly talking so it would be a waste

Whistle-I rarely use it and it gets in the way when I demo.
Clipboard-I always leave it at one end of the field and then I need it at the other
iPhone (camera)-my wife always takes it
Clothes, hats, shoes are all weather-dependent.
Boxer briefs.

I always had a Watch Whistle (for some reason I like Thunderer) Cargo shorts Cell phone when I was HC Pencil..I bought a box of golf pencils and would just grab a fresh one Offensive Scout team plays
Now here is a tip you never saw on Coach Huey..For all you could weather guys.here's what you do to keep your feet warm in November when there is snow on the ground..You go sock, bag, sock....meaning you put on a sock, then you put a plastic bag over the first sock and then end with another sock,,finally you put your shoe on

One thing I always have (since I see others discuss where they keep their practice schedules, etc) is a thing my equipment guy at my former school made for me (actually made a number of them). It clips to my pants and has a pull out "string" with a clip on the end. This clip holds practice schedule, scripts, etc. It's always right there, I can pull it out to took at it, or I can unclip it and put it back. Solved the "where did I put that stuff" issue. I have one I wear on game nights with my playsheets, etc in it. I told him he needed to market them.

1. Shorts- always 2. T-shirt- more often than not with cutoff sleeves 3. Visor- don't like visors and don't really wear one outside of summer/football season, but I have one I've worn ever football practice for the last three years and I wear it every day to practice. 4. Stopwatch- around my neck. Only way I know what time it is. 5. Whistle- around my neck 6. Practice plan- in a plastic sheet, folded up and in my pocket. 7. School keys- has a carbiner (or whatever those clippy things are called) that I put my wedding ring on.
That's it.

- T-shirt
- shorts (optional)
- FoxFire40 whistle w/ laynard with equipment room keys.....with pen attached
- practice plan in clear plastic sleeve
** I'll get blasted for this but...... smartphone. Use it a lot for timing, segment alarms, playbook (review concept with backups once the play is called in huddle) and recording indy drills (if needed).

Those of you guys who have pens on lanyards: what are you writing down, what are you making your notes on, and what surface are you writing on?
I'm incapable of a clipboard or some such because I'm too animated/demonstrative during practice.
