As a highschool player,I seldom thought we were outcoached. In college, I saw how backward my coaches had been. As a rookie middle school coach, I was a dry sponge and sucked up info from every source. I found out how little I really knew. You get into a comfort zone with what you"know". After a while, we see clearly that which was obscurred by our hubris. At year 31 in my coaching career I went to a TFS clinic and got writers cramp from taking notes! Wow new ways to see things. First we must be men of integrity, then comes the learning piece. In a nutshell I see that as a profession we have fewer men who I'd let marry my daughter now than before, and more guys who know more stuff than I did coming out

As a young coach, 28 years ago, I had all the answers. Now, 28 years later, I have finally figured out what some of the questions are!!!!!!
No better teacher then experience.
