Yep Clairton is dominant in Single-A. But mainly because it's main competition Aliquippa or Jeanette play up in AA. If Clairton played up or those two played in their true classification that streak wouldn't be what it is. I live in Michigan now and Ithaca won their 3rd in a row. East Grand Rapids missed the playoffs for the first time in decades but they had won 7 state titles since '02.

In Kansas there are 2 that come to mind, and I am only talking about public schools, not private. Those two are Hutchinson and Smith Center. Smith Center is a small school coached by Roger Barta. He had a book written about their football program called "Our Boys." It was excellent. He retired this year. He was 311-62 in 34 years that included 5 undefeated seasons, 79 game winning streak, and 8 state titles.
Hutchinson is in a large school classification. Since Randy Dreiling took over the football program in 1997 they have had great success. He has 7 state titles and had been in the state semis either 10 or 12 years in a row now.

I think since 2003 Hutch has only missed playing in the state championship one time. For Kansas, Holton should probably be mentioned as well. They haven't strung together quite the same in a row kind of streak, but they have been in the 4A hunt pretty much EVERY year since Brooks Barta (Roger's son) took over. In 3A there is Silver Lake they've played in the state title game 8 of the last 9 years and won it twice in that time. I think they have 7 state championships overall.

Definitely true about Silver Lake, forgot about them. Holton is definitely putting themselves in the category also, just did not want to mention too many schools. They are both great programs for sure.

In Georgia, Buford High has dominated over the last few decades. They are in the 4th largest of the 6 classifications in Georgia and have 35 9th graders on their roster, only 9 of which dress with the varsity. Look like an Collegiate team rolling players in who would never come off the field in most schools in the state.

Montini (private) in Illinois won their 4th title in a row in class 5A (8A largest). They typically compete with 7A and 8A powers in non coference games and do fairly well. They were a solid program before, but Addison Driscoll which was a neighboring private school closed their doors in 2008. They had previously won 7 in a row from 2001-2007. It's safe to say they scooped up some of those kids that would have gone to Driscoll!

Clairton in A here in PA... I coach in district 2 so I hope Dunmore can beat Clairton this weekend in Hershey. Tall order tho. I think Archbishop Wood is about to go on a crazy streak too, now that the Philly private schools can play in states it is going to be a lot harder to win it all. Still think that PAs state playoffs are very good, and that we get new champs every year.

In South Dakota it is Sioux Falls Washington. They have been it the last 6 state title games , winning 3 and are something like 47-3 the last 4 years with an average margin of victory around 35-40 points.

NJ actually has 24 "state champs" each year so it is not possible to measure dominance by number of "state titles."
However, Don Bosco is the perennial powerhouse.

In North Carolina I would have to say New Bern in 4AA (highest classification). They have won 2 state titles in the last 5 years. Before them Charlotte Independence also 4AA classification won well over 130 games in a row along with 7 straight state titles, until New Bern dethroned them back in 2007. Realdawg mentioned Butler out of Charlotte who has taken Independences place as a powerhouse too.
In 3A I would have to say Havelock High School. They have won back to back state titles.
Would be neat of some how you could take all the State Champs from everystate, pair them up by classification and let them play a giant playoff and declare a true National Champion. Of course that would take bucoo amount of $, time and travel.

I coached at Hutchinson (Kansas) with Coach Dreiling for 6 years. I can say that they are successful year in and year out because a complete program (youth on up) that is consistent year in and year out has been established. Each year builds. And Hutch is a public school.

In Virginia things have taken an interesting turn. Phoebus HS has been one of the top programs (I hesitated to write this because I coached there until 2010). They'd won seven state championships since 2001 and at one point had a 52 game winning streak. They lost in the playoffs, badly, to Lake Taylor, a great program who'd played Phoebus five times and had lost a lot of close games.
What's interesting is that Virginia is completely realigning their classifications. PHS and LT were "playing up" in Division 5 AAA (Small AAA). Now playing up has been stopped so they both have to go down to D.4 (Big AA). That means that the teams that have won the last five D.5 championships will be playing at a lower classification next year (including some other programs-Hanover and Dinwiddie come to mind-who have been very close).

In NSW (Australia) The Sydney University Lions just won their 10th straight state championship, with a record of 122-2 over the ten years, and are currently on a 84 game winning run.
Clubs are often associated with universities out here, as we have sporting clubs, not tied to schools.
