Stumbled across a news article describing the resignation of a former huey poster/member. Have left the name blank, but I think many of the long time members/posters will be able to figure out who it is, and will get a refreshing preseason chuckle at the way the article is worded.
"football coach __________ confirmed Wednesday that he has resigned from the position to pursue another football-related opportunity.
"It's an exceptionally amazing opportunity that has presented itself," ________said. "I think it's safe to say it came out of nowhere."
What it actually is remains to be seen. ________said he expects to be able to talk about it in the next five to seven days.
------ Maybe I am wrong, but I just find it funny. Some things never change. I wonder if he didn't have time to talk about it because he had to go speak at a clinic.

There are few people in the history of the game who have gotten more mileage from a slightly better than .500 record.

His record is only 500 because they are after him, because he broke the paradigm.

Here's what I think: Here's a clue 5085 and "he" are very close. Since this has nothing to do with actual "football" I'm sure it'll get close down real soon. (that was also a clue) cue the music "if you don't know me by now, you will neva neva know me..." Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes, one of my favorite songs from my Soph. year in high school. OJW

Didn't he resign 7 months ago? Old news. Yes, it is old. As I said, I just stumbled upon the article. Was just entertained by the language used as it closely resembles many of the posts we saw here during the sales blitz.

The question is...."5 to 7 days". This occurred months ago and you guys haven't been spammed with emails. Wonder how great the opportunity really was? I'll tell you after I put this Power Point together.

I live in the bay so I saw this in the paper months ago when it came out... it was the most oddly phrased resignation I have ever seen... apparently we are all on a need to know basis and we dont need to know $hit

I live in the bay so I saw this in the paper months ago when it came out... it was the most oddly phrased resignation I have ever seen... That is what I find so humorous. It just doesn't stop. Poor guy is like he is trapped in a sham wow commercial. As far as any "hatred" I can speak only for myself when I say that I never wished any ill will towards the man himself, but despised what grew out of a rather clever idea (albeit a loophole). Nothing wrong with the origin...it was the brute force marketing attack, the constant snakeoil salesman/ teaser approach (an "exceptionally amazing opportunity that I can't discuss for about 5-7 days... ::)even in resigning), the branding, that I could not respect. As it grew, it seemed as though the agenda was to push the A-11 brand (a-11 t-shirts and hats? a-11 coffee mugs, a-11 PET CLOTHING, A-11 BBQ aprons, A-11 mouse pads--not making any of that up-- trying to start a Professional A-11 football league?) rather than coach the high school kids. This was further evidenced by keeping the A-11 brand once rule changes no longer allowed for all 11 to be potentially eligible. Coaching football is something I take very serious... so much so that I am no longer doing it because I didn't believe I had the fire to do it to the best of my ability. That is where my discontent came from. He didn't seem like he was a football coach anymore--he came off as an A-11 salesman who was using that school and those kids as a platform. That's why I find the language in the article so amusing.

No "K" it's not hatred, it just all in good fun, I don't frankly care because the whole thing really had nothing to do with football. Just an idea somebody had that didn't workout like they thought.
I only knew 1 guy who tried running "the idea" 1 time, got totally murdered and never tired it again. But, I guess with all things football you have to do it more than once. He just never tried it again.
But we are not here to argue the merits of "that idea" Hey, I don't even know if 5085 is talking about the guy with "that idea." I'm just guessing. But, I do know that 5085 DIDN'T like the A-11 and didn't seem to get along with its "guru" either.
But no harm meant by me, just a little humerous that's all. OJW
