As soon as I start to think I'm the expert in this that or the other, I can immediately think of lots of people--including many on this board--better at those areas than I am. There's also so much to learn. An older coach once told me you can't be a good coach if you don't continue to be a student. Football is quite humbling. I totally agree. One of my biggest strengths is I know I don't know everything. You have to be continually re-evaluating yourself, your teaching methods etc.

Like Brophy said- drinking lots of beer. I have also game planned option on bar napkins- in the hallway of the Superdome- at the state championship games with an ex-college coach- after drinking lots of beer. For some reason, "splitback veer" sounded like "gimme a beer". The coach was cool though, even though I had to do the one-eyed squint to get the damn x's and o's on the napkins to stop moving.
Offense- Wing T, I, some option Positions- WR's, QB's, RB's
Defense- 4-3, 5-2 Positions- D-Line, LB's
Would absolutely love to learn more about zone schemes and triple option. -

"It's what you learn after you think you know it all that's important."
I think John Wooden said that.

Football is quite humbling. If those aren't the most true words spoken, then I don't know what is, it should be in the bible right before "on the seventh day".

I know about offensive and defensive line technique.
I know a lot about blocking schemes, but still am trying to branch out and learn a little more in this area.
