Interesting. I think a better question is, "What keeps you coming back?" What keeps me coming back is #1 I want to keep learning #2 I feel like you guys are friends..friends that i can talk with that speak my language..friends you can vent to and actually understand what you are going through

What keeps me coming back is #1 I want to keep learning #2 I feel like you guys are friends..friends that i can talk with that speak my language..friends you can vent to and actually understand what you are going through I second each of these. When I first started coaching, I was fortunate enough to become and HC right from the start. After 2 years, I really didn't have anyone to bounce ideas off of, or to learn from. This message board become my coaches' office. I could whine & complain (i did a lot of that), learn and get feedback on some of my ideas. Now I am an assistant with some really great coaches, I still come back here for stuff, but not the same way that I used to.

I've been on here a long time and check the site daily. There is always something new to learn, there is always some way to do something better. As mentioned by others, I also miss the white board chats in the early spring, that's such a dead time of the year for football, its almost a necessity to get the juices flowing and the brain working ahead towards spring/summer/fall...

I've been on here every day since I found the board about a year ago. I know that sometimes I get fired up and jump in over my head, but the coaches on here have been cool about showing me the errors of my ways when that happens while still making me feel welcome.
For a young guy like myself, this board has been invaluable, both what I've read from others and for the feedback on my own ideas. I'm constantly making mental notes of all this stuff for the future. I also appreciate how I can come here and get honest, sincere advice from all the more experienced guys on anything related to the field.
To Coachhuey, Tog, Phantom, Touchdownmaker, TedSeay, LochNess, CoachD5085, Brophy, CoachOrr, Spreadattack, OJW, Deuce, CQMiller, JGordon1, Groundchuck, Mariner42, CoachCB, DCOhio, BulldogOption, and all of you other vets who make this thing work, I would like to extend a very sincere "Thank you."

Let me ask if you guys would like to get the whiteboard chats cranked up. I used to love them but they've been dead. Toby's used to have a set time (9:30 Eastern) and they were great. I can't do it now because we're still playing but I'd lobe to have organized chats again.

this board is outstanding. i can't say enough about the knowledge i've taken from a lot of experienced coaches. It's just a huge network of guys that "get it" and have a common struggle, i couldnt be more proud to associate with guys on this site.
I appreciate all the knowledge, stupid rants, arguments, "facemelter" schemes, and overall good discussion on every topic around.
I second the whiteboard chat ideas, lets see what we can do guys, anyone else in?

Yes Phantom and veeraid are 2 old names I remember from the Toby's days. I would be very much interested in chat times etc. Really miss those days

Hey scottc, do you remember AJ, Big Bird, Double Wing, Bobcat, JW, Kybob, Gaspasser, Magilla, Whobs, Ox, Flex, Raider, Wing T Guru, Chains, Patriot, Bowne, Swarm, and of course Poston? Just to name a few of the Toby guys. I often wonder what happened to them and are they still in coaching. They gave a great deal of insight into the the game.

I am a daily viewer and love this site. In Iraq this was the one thing to look forward to when we went into the base and had access to the internet. Was logging in and just reading what others posted. The best thing that I get from this is bouncing ideas from others, because sometimes as a coach other coaches don't like to share if you play in same area. So on here everyone seems to be willing to share with the "new" guys like me.
So to all of you Thanks!

I would enjoy a regular chatboard time. Any suggestions? I'll second that. I'd enjoy a chatboard time! You guys could not figure out what this site (and you all) means to me or to any european coach on the board.

This board, among others has helped me out in more ways than one. Like another coach mentioned, the trading section it used to have helped me build my video library and can look up on just about anything that would help me. The coaches here have also helped me when I bounced ideas off them to see if it made sense or not. The help that's on this site is very knowledgable.
The best part is that unlike some other sites, the Coach Huey site does not look down on youth coaches like myself. The HS coaches here will help out ANY coach as long as the info is used to help ANY football player get better. That's what these sites are all about, correct.
BTW, some of the posts/pics Brophy comes up with, I'm like WTF, lol!!! ;D
Keep up the GREAT WORK, Coaches!!!! It is very much appreciated from here.

this is the best coaches site I've been on and have seen on the internet. I am in awe of the knowledge of the coaches that are on here. I learn something new everyday and try to offer what I know if I think it will help. I want to thank everybody who has contributed because I know it has made me a much better coach.

I've been on here since '05. This site has been an invaluable tool and sounding board. I remember the early days and heated discussions around jet sweep under center v. out of the gun. Tog, yspace, huey, brophy and jwannha (sp) have been instrumental to me in forming my coaching "theories". It's nice to see coach Pratley on here as of late as well.
I don't post a whole bunch, but I visit daily for my fix.
