Our HC thinks this exemplifies HS football: Only a few have the courage walk where we walk Never forget you shall walk down this road but once in your life Keep good company – they will make the journey memorable Give everything – it will make the journey meaningful Have no regrets and hold nothing back For the journey ends quickly, and when it does, you will never walk this road again.

I like that one Albert.
A couple more:
"Football is the essence of America, but not because of championships or titles. The drive to compete - the guts to play - the will to come from behind - the grace to walk off the field a loser - that's the essence of football." --- Archie Manning
"You have been weighed and measured and you have been found wanting." -- Daniel 5:27
"Cowards die many times before their deaths; The valiant never taste of death but once." -- Shakespeare, Julius Caesar,II, 2

I have seen them all over the board. Give me some good quotes. Don't necessarily have to be football related, but what are your favorities? I have been on a big "Quote of the Day" kick this semester. Here are some of my favorites. "If you're a fastball pitcher, don't lose the game throwing a change up." Nick Saban "If I'm given 10 days to chop down a tree, I am going to spend 9 days sharpening the AX." Abe Lincoln "When work is to be done, some turn up their sleeves, some turn up their noses, and others don't even turn up at all." Dont Know who said that one. At Pat Dye's introductory news conference at Auburn...Auburn had lost 9 straight to arch rival Alabama. Reporter: "Coach, how long will it take to beat Alabama?" Dye: "Sixty Minutes." Another famous Dye quip that I can't recall the origin of: "Hindsight is fifty fifty." For inspirational:

The quote that made me chuckle recently was from Hawke on the OLD SCHOOL thread -
"And I still tell them if they don't smarten up we are going to the hospital on 3 legs to get my foot out of their behind."
Now that's an image I can see happening on our field!
