Envy is a terrible thing, Phantom, but after reading that..I HAVE IT!!! 53 in June, would retire at 55 except for this little thing called a house payment. I understand the envy thing. I used to have it. Being the object of it is new but I can live with it. The only thing that worries me is that I like movies and nobody gets away scot-free in the movies. If Private Johnson shows a picture of his new baby he's dead. If Sarge talks about retirement the only question is which angle the bullet is coming from. Are you talking about F-Troop?

I'll be 55 in a month but I've been coaching only since 2007. My musical tastes, however -- I'm listening to WFMU's stream while I'm writing this -- might make me seem like I'm either 90 YO or 35 YO, although the show streaming right now is of "my age" or so. My politics might seem like those of a 100 YO or a 20 YO. And my football tastes might make me tend to seem older than 54.

53, coached/taught for 2 years out of college, then got out of the education vocation, big mistake. Got a second chance, started coaching and teaching again 10 years ago as an assistant, last year was my first as the HC. Life is good now as they were back in the good old days. Coach Butts
