The regular season kicked off for us last night (six man in Florida... I know we don't get a lot of love but we play hard.) We were playing the defending state runner up for our league and we rolled out to a 14-0 lead. They couldn't stop our quarterback (he should be playing in a public school somewhere but his parents really want him in a private school.)
Within a matter of three minutes I've got three players laid out on stretchers and on their way to the ER. One of them couldn't remember his own name or was aware he had a little brother. He couldn't remember my name this morning. Four more of my players wound up with other severe injuries that will warrant doctor visits next week but no ER trips.
Over the course of this... No flags. We ended up calling the game with 6 minutes left in the fourth quarter. I walked in with 18, left with 9. What do you tell your team?
Do any of these seem dirty to you? Or were no flags warranted and I'm just overreacting?
:12 mark - #40 hands to the face and after the play ends he kicks the running back 1:11 horsecollar not called :35 #15 punches the quarterback after the play :52 #9 knees the quarterback 1:25 You hear the whistle CLEARLY blow and #40 not only hits the QB late, he leads with his helmet

The :12 mark.. I see nothing...
The others I can see it.

I didn't see anything there that should have hurt anybody. For a horse-collar the runner has to be pulled straight back.

The :12 mark.. I see nothing... The others I can see it. Watch #40's first contact with the center - right hand on the bottom of the facemask pushing his head straight up. Then he releases. But definitely there. I thought they were all little chump moves except that last one. That head to head shot on the QB was way out of bounds, and dangerous. Head shot to a defenseless player after the whistle? That was bad.

Yeah, I just wanted to see if I was overreacting because of them being my own players. I appreciate the responses.

Send a copy of the game tape to the head of your local referee's association. Send the same time marks you noted for us and ask whether he sees the same thing as you. Do not bad mouth the refs or you will get no consideration at all. Good luck,

Wow, something should have been done. I understand why you might be frustrated.

Wow, that is something else coach. I coach 8-man and our officiating is somewhat lacking because of our community's isolation. I'd send a copy of it to the state and go from there.

Definately cause for concern though a few re chump moves.
