Coaches, I need some help with ways of setting up a rewards system for my team. I am looking for some basic rewards...examples a touchdown you get a decal and for 5 pancakes you get a decal. What do you use?

I used to work at a school that went on a point system similar to what you are describing - PITA, time consuming and also led to some dissent on the team as it was somewhat subjective.
Where I am now, preseason the coaches come up with goal boards for offense, defense and special teams. If we achieve the goal for the game, everyone on offense defense or special teams gets a sticker.
We also give out stickers for "the win" to everyone on the team, and to everyone on the defense if we get a shutout. JV's and Frosh get them for their respective wins also.
Finally, O, D, SP Team, and Scout Team player of the week get them as well.

We hand out stickers for team goals only. We have a set of goals for the offense, defense and special teams for each game and give out stickers based on meeting those team goals. Everyone gets a sticker for a win, including the guys who never see the field. I believe it takes every player on the team to win a game. This helps bring the point home to our scout team guys about the importance of their effort throughout the week.

I give out only two stickers- one for a big hit and one for a spectacular hit. That's it. It's quick and easy to tally up and anyone can earn one if they are highly motivated to be a physical football player.

DO NOT... I repeat... DO NOT use a POINT SYSTEM.
Waste of Time.
It's a huge waste of time for your assistants, and it takes away from the TEAM aspect of your program as individuals will care more about stickers then the win.

Thanks for all of your input! Yes After listening to some of your remarks I think we are busy enough with all other aspects of the program.

What we give out Golden Block: Just a spray painted cinder block. Given to the best block Hit Stick: (I think this came from FSU) goes to he best hit Everyone gets one for the win All Def guys get one for a shutout
1 for any of these TD, TD pass, INT, Force fumble, fumble rec
I also take them away for ints, and fumbles.
We also gie our Oline stickers for each TD we score on O. I HC got a little crazy this year an said he woudl give them 3 for each score. He did not think we would have 1 player score almost 40 TDs. We had to buy more stickers.

LOL, 3 for a single TD- sorta dilutes the value of a sticker doesn't it?

I am probably the most anti-sticker guy in the world. If you give them to individuals, then you WILL see division on the team. Period, end of story. If you give them for group efforts, then you have to worry about who subbed in, etc. If you give them for team/unit efforts, again you have to worry about your protocol (who was on the field, what if someone was in the game for half of the drive, what if they were just on the field for the play..etc. ) If you give for other reasons, you are just decorating the helmet...
I would say that the only good reasons to give stickers would be ACADEMIC. Get an A get a sticker. That sounds good to me.

LOL, 3 for a single TD- sorta dilutes the value of a sticker doesn't it? Maybe but I tell you what our Oline got down the field. This was the best oline that has been here and there was a certain matter of pride they took in their job. The 3 for a TD was just for our oline. The taking them away is what kills the kids. They HATE having to give up their sticker. If they do not have a sticker to give up then they have to pull one off. It helps drive home the fact that the other team is going to try to take from you what you have worked all ths time for.
